Squid Game viewers think they’ve spotted a genius hint in the series, which foreshadows the future of the South Korean Netflix show.
There’s been no bigger social media buzz than the one that followed the release of Squid Game in 2021 and 2024, respectively.
The first season of the hit South Korean survival series took Netflix by storm during the Covid pandemic, and later, the highly-anticipated second season of Squid Game dropped, with the action just as jam-packed as ever before - and Easter eggs to uncover.
Almost immediately, online users began to piece together hints in most scenes which showed just how the game was about to end.

For example, people were honed in on Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae)’s mission to track down the salesman who first invited him to compete in the deadly competition.

Gi-hun uses his newfound wealth to find the recruiter, so that he can meet Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) and end the game once and for all. Once spotted, he follows him and is then forced to play Rock, Paper, Scissors with the added pressure of Russian Roulette.
The recruiter then adds bullets to the gun, attempting to scare Gi-hun, but viewers spotted that most bullets were fake, giving the men a 1/6 chance of ever being killed.

One Reddit post said: "Why’d the recruiter use dummy bullets in the Russian roulette scene?
"In the recruiter’s first Russian roulette game between the loan sharks, if you look closely you can see that the recruiter actually loaded a dummy bullet (you can tell by the ‘hole’, it’s caused by the primer already being hit by the firing pin).

"So there was actually a 0% chance of the gun firing at first."

But this was just one of many things spotted, as now, another detail has been revealed which has blown the minds of all who see it.
Remember at the start of Squid Game season 2, when Gi-hun withdraws money from his 45.6 billion won debit card?
Well, the expiry date is very interesting.
That’s because the date of expiry is listed as June 2025…the exact month the Squid Game series would come to an end.

Online users were shocked, with one writing: “That is genuinely one of the coolest details I've ever seen in a show.”
Season 3 of the hit show has wrapped up filming, which will see a total end of the Hwang Dong-hyuk directed project as Netflix takes over its rights.
When the first season of the dystopian thriller show came out in 2021, many were shocked by the horrors that the contestants faced, sparking international popularity over its fresh perspective.
People who had never been interested in international projects were suddenly catapulted into the SK-sphere, leading to opening themselves up to K-dramas and K-pop alike. It even sparked its own real-life dupe by Mr Beast, which saw people compete for money.

With a 95 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s no surprise that it’s topped all of the charts. People have religiously studied the show, and theories about the characters have been in the air since episode one of season 2 - particularly when it came to the face behind Front Man.
People online shared that in one scene, Gi-hun points up to the floors above, explaining to the other participants that's where the Squid Game 'masters' are.
As 10 of the players all look up, fans point out Player 001 didn't - he was staring at Gi-hun instead.
Taking to Facebook, a fan wrote: "Does this mean Player 456 is the actual mastermind behind this all? Was he 001's accomplice all along?

"We, the audience, were the ones played!"
Time will tell.
