Prime Video subscribers are obsessed with the 'best TV show there is,' which boasts flawless Rotten Tomatoes ratings.

Picking your next binge-watch can be a challenge - and not always successful. A bit like dating, you have every reason to believe you'll fall in love with an enchanting TV series, but for whatever reason, you don't click.

That makes it all the better, then, when you find a series that grabs your attention right away and is super easy to watch.

Well, Amazon Prime Video subscribers have found exactly that in the form of a light-hearted British comedy.

And it stars some familiar faces, including veteran actor Toby Jones, who played Dr. Arnim Zola in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and voiced Dobby the house elf in the Harry Potter movies.

The show first aired on the BBC in the UK, running for three seasons between 2015 and 2017.

The show's popularity saw it spawn two Christmas specials, the latest of which dropped in 2017 and was a feature-length movie.

It then streamed internationally on Netflix for a while, but is no longer on the platform.

The series follows Andy Stone (Mackenzie Crook, who also wrote the show) and Lance Stater (Jones), two middle-aged friends in the small, fictional town of Danebury in north Essex, near London.

The pair share a passion for metal detecting and spend their days wandering the English countryside in search of treasure.

But instead of buried treasure, they uncover something far more valuable; the beauty of friendship, love and life’s simple joys.

Surrounded by quirky fellow members of the Danebury Metal Detecting Club, the show gently explores their dreams, frustrations and bonds, making for a wholesome binge-watch.

Game of Thrones' Diana Rigg, Doctor Who's Rachael Stirling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' Sophie Thompson, Peaky Blinders' Aimee-Ffion Edwards also feature.

The show in question is called Detectorists, which racked up a Rotten Tomatoes critics' score of 100 per cent across all three of its seasons.

"Below Detectorists' pleasant hilarity is a wealth of emotional riches, unearthed by Toby Jones and MacKensize Crook's endearing chemistry," critics said in their consensus.

People in the US can stream Detectorists via Acorn TV, with a free, seven-day subscription as an add-on to Prime Video.

Taking to Reddit, one person asked for recommendations on the 'most underrated' shows people have ever seen.

Among the hundreds of answers was Detectorists, as one fan dubbed it a 'delightful watch.'

"One of the better TV shows ever produced. A tiny gem, easy to overlook but impossible to forget," a second agreed.

"Best show there is," a third said. "Now I’ll rewatch because it gives me this sense of peace."

"LOVED this show! The characters were excellent!" another social media user agreed, while someone else described it as 'solid gold.'

All three seasons of Detectorists are available to stream now on Acorn TV via Prime Video and on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
