Netflix is removing 16 seasons of a long-running series fans labeled 'a true delight to watch'.
Your next binge-watch can sometimes be difficult to decide on, whether you're into gritty crime dramas or something more wholesome.
But Netflix subscribers are gutted an 'addictive' TV series is being pulled at the end of July. Moreover, they're confused as to why - considering there are two more seasons yet to land in the US, and another season in production.

The series first debuted on CBC Television in 2007, spanning a total of 18 seasons and more than 270 episodes.
One of the longest-running one-hour scripted drama in Canadian television history, the series is set on a sprawling ranch in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near the fictional town of Hudson, Alberta.

It chronicles the daily challenges of running a multi-generational horse, with teenager Amy Fleming (Amber Marshall) at its heart.

After the tragic death of her mom, Amy discovers she has a gift for understanding and healing abused and injured horses.
Alongside her older sister Lou (Michelle Morgan), their widowed grandfather Jack Bartlett (Shaun Johnston), their father Tim Fleming (Chris Potter), and loyal ranch hand Ty Borden (Graham Wardle), Amy navigates the highs and lows of family, friendship, love and loss - all while striving to keep the ranch afloat amid mounting financial pressures.
The series is called Heartland, and it's adapted from Lauren Brooke’s bestselling book series of the same name.

Fans have scored it a 8.4 out of 10 across more than 21,000 IMDB reviews.
One hailed it 'good old-fashioned entertainment', adding: "It is a true delight to watch and the characters are incredibly genuine, making it easy to empathise with their lives and dilemmas."

A second agreed: "I found this show totally addictive. The characters were brilliant, there was not a single one I didn't like, which adds to its watchability."
Taking to Twitter, fans vented their frustration at Heartland's impending removal.
"@Netflix I beg yall not to take off ‘Heartland’ at the end of the month, not while I'm waiting for S17-18, thanks," one pleaded, as a second social media user wrote: "Huge mistake to remove Heartland from the US line up.
"Best show on your network and billions of viewers. Cough up the money and keep streaming!"
Why is Heartland leaving Netflix?
Like most shows that leave the streaming platform, it's likely Heartland's licence has expired.

In many non-Canadian markets, seasons one to six were already dropped back in January 2022 when their licensing term expired and weren’t renewed.
Newer seasons - 7 to 16 - were gradually added to international Netflix catalogs throughout 2023.
Confusingly at the time, all seasons were pulled from Netflix Canada back in March 2023, as per What's On Netflix.
They moved over to CBC Gem instead, where they're all still available to stream.
When is Heartland leaving Netflix?

All 16 seasons of Heartland US are due to be removed at the end of the month, on Thursday July 31.
The remaining episodes across international Netflix platforms are expected to be pulled then, too.
Where can the seasons be streamed in the US?
Fortunately for Heartland fans, the ranch drama is still going strong - and you can still watch them, just not on Netflix.

Instead, all episodes - including newer seasons 17 and 18 - now reside on US channel UP Faith & Family - UPtv’s streaming service.
Season 17 aired in Canada in October 2023, before landing exclusively on the streamer in April 2024.
Season 18 concluded its Canadian run in late 2024, then dropped on UP Faith & Family in April, with new episodes releasing weekly.
It was confirmed the show had been renewed for a 19th season, with production starting this May, Calgary Herald reported.
