Netflix has just released a new war drama starring Kerry Washington which viewers are saying 'you'll want to watch over and over'.

If you've finally stopped crying over that Netflix movie which a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, then fear not, because the streaming service has released another film to get you reaching for the tissues just in time for Christmas. Prepare to get chills from the trailer below:

The film was written and directed by Tyler Perry, who also co-produced alongside Carlota Espinosa, Tony Strickland, Angi Bones, Nicole Avant and Tyler Perry.

It stars Kerry Washington (Scandal), Ebony Obsidian (If Beale Street Could Talk) and Milauna Jackson (Strike Back).

The movie is based on an all-Black and all-female battalion in World War II called the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion.

Netflix's Tudum adds: "The 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion contributed to the war effort in a unique way: by sorting through a three-year backlog of mail (17 million pieces of it!) that hadn’t been delivered to American soldiers far from home.

"In the face of discrimination and a vast, unfamiliar country divided by global conflict, these 855 women brought hope to the front lines.

"Given six months to complete the task, the 6888th accomplished their mission in less than 90 days, providing morale when the United States needed it most."

The film - titled The Six Triple Eight - was released in select cinemas on December 6, 2024 before being released onto Netflix on December 20 and it hasn't taken long for viewers to flock to social media to weigh in.

The Six Triple Eight may've only achieved a Rotten Tomatoes critics score of 50 percent and a slightly better audience score of 79 percent, but Netflix users who've just stumbled upon it are loving it.

The movie was shared onto LADbible Facebook Group Netflix Bangers, a viewer writing: "The Six Triple Eight one of the best movies ever."

"Was brilliant you need lots of tissues," another user responded.

A third wrote: "The Six Triple Eight is a movie you'll want to watch over and over. I watched it Friday night and it was excellent.

"The actual footage of the 6888 along with every soldier's name was wonderful to see Sunday morning."

A fourth said: "Yes!!! The 6888th's determination and strength is a powerful reminder that we can overcome any obstacle! Every student & every Women should watch this movie!"

And a fifth said: "My aunt Rita Brough, served in the Army in WWII. She told her sister that the Black Women Soldiers were treated very horribly in boot camp.

"I’m so happy to learn of the very important role 'the 6888' played in WWII in spite of the harsh treatment they received initially. What they accomplished changed the course of the war!!"

You can catch The Six Triple Eight on Netflix now.
