Netflix users are loving ‘masterpiece' series that is the 'best thing they've seen all year'

Tina Fey, the creator of 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, has released a new mini-series featuring Steve Carell

A new hit Netflix miniseries starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey has been dubbed a 'masterpiece', with fans even claiming shows have 'no business being this funny'.

15 years since the pair have appeared on screen together, having shot Date Night together back in 2010, Carell and Fey have finally teamed up again, and their on-screen energy just works.

The eight-part series was co-written and produced by the Sisters actor, alongside Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield.

Speaking to Netflix, 54-year-old Fey said: "I hope audiences feel like they are inside a big sweater with us, and also having a dinner party with us, and I hope that any of the joy and warmth that we all feel for each other all transfers to them, and that we are a comfort and provide some laughs for them in their home."

So, what's Tina Fey's new Netflix show about?

It's called Four Seasons and it follows six friends who are all coupled up, but one of the relationships is about to break down while enjoying a relaxing weekend away.

Instead of not going on any further vacations together, the six of them agree to go on subsequent holidays - one for each season: winter, spring, summer and fall.

But when one of the divorcees brings a much younger partner to the later trips... chaos.

Speaking of the show, Carell told the streaming giant: "It feels lived-in, and I attribute that to the writing and the casting of it, too. It feels like these people have existed in each other’s lives for a long time.

"There’s a code, there’s an unspoken relationship that entwines all of them, and they speak the same language to each other. There’s a shorthand, and it’s funny."

The next two episodes, three and four, are shot in the beautiful Puerto Rico.

Episodes five and six feature Vassar College, in Poughkeepsie, New York, with the final two episodes also shot in upstate New York.

Explaining why they opted to shoot so heavily in the state, Fey shared with Netflix: “New York is a beautiful and magical state. It’s a really, really beautiful place to get these four seasons.”
