Netflix fans are obsessed with a '10/10' sci-fi mini-series which has racked up an impressive 95 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

It's so gripping that one fan admitted staying up until 6am to binge-watch it.

Having been released to Netflix on April 30, the six-parter has been viewed for 58.3 million hours in its first week alone, as per Netflix Tudum.

The series is based on a famous Argentinian comic series, written by Héctor Germán Oesterheld and Francisco Solano López.

It follows Juan Salvo (Ricardo Darín), the survivor of a toxic snowfall in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Snow has only ever fallen three times in the capital - and this time, it's deadly.

Anyone touched by the stuff dies instantly, with a devastating trail of chaos and casualties left in its wake.

As panic spreads, survivors don protective gear to battle the invisible, lethal force that seems to pursue them relentlessly.

Salvo is determined to uncover the truth behind the bizarre, apocalyptic storm: Is it nuclear warfare, an alien invasion, or something even more terrifying?

The TV series is called The Eternaut, and you can watch its trailer below:

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), fans were also quick to praise the sci-fi drama.

"Who loves alien invasion and sci fi in general?" one asked, adding: "Binge Argentinian TV show 'The Eternaut' on Netflix. It's 10/10."

A second agreed: "Finished The Eternaut today - amazing, 10/10" as a third weighed in: "I’ve never seen anything like it. I specifically love how the writing doesn’t treat its audience like imbeciles."

In the YouTube trailer's comments section, one fan admitted they were 'up until 6am' binge-watching because 'I had to know what happens next.'

"A must watch," they added.

Meanwhile, it's been rated an impressive 95 percent by fans and 94 per cent by critics over on Rotten Tomatoes.

Will there be a season two of The Eternaut?

It's good news - The Eternaut is set to return for a second season, as confirmed by Deadline on May 2.

Netflix's Latin American programming boss, Francisco ‘Paco’ Ramos, told the publication: “Season 2 is going to be very important. It’s going to dig into a lot of sci-fi concepts that were just pointed out in season one, and they are going to be fully blown.”

Meanwhile, producer Matías Mosteirin confirmed that The Eternaut's second season would also be its last.

"We believe that we will manage to close the whole story in a beautiful way, with probably eight more episodes," he said, later adding: "We can sustain it for a second season, but no more than that."

He continued: "We feel that, artistically, that is the cycle to we need to sustain the mystique and the adventure of making the show."

It's not yet been confirmed when season two will go into production, nor when it might be released.

The first season of The Eternaut is streaming now on Netflix.
