Fans of crime dramas and thrillers are raving about the latest series to drop on the streaming platform.

The show is based on a series of books and already, people are talking about it online.

If you're a fan of thrillers or Scandi-Noir type mysteries, this will probably be something up your street.

It's got the lot. Morally questionable protagonist? Check. Seedy and unpleasant plot line? Check. Lots of grey colour palettes communicating the sense of quiet, listless despair? Check check check!

It's called Detective Forst, and viewers have already described it as a 'must watch' series on Netflix.

Detective Forst follows the titular character, a maverick detective whose unconventional approach to solving his cases lands him in hot water.

As a result, the detective has to team up with a journalist to solve a dark mystery.

The show was put onto the platform in six parts, and is based on a series of books by Remigiusz Mroz.

Many people are asking if there is going to be a second series of the popular show, and with six books to work with it seems that could well be a possibility, as there is certainly plenty of source material.

Author Mroz, 36, has been involved in the creation of the Netflix series, and was credited as a writer.

Not only that, but he even cameo'd in Detective Forst, playing the part of the original victim, appearing only as a dead body.

Detective Forst is available to stream on Netflix.

Others asked if there was going to be a second season of the show.

A fan wrote: "@Netflix we need a series 2 of Detective Forst -it must happen ... Episode 6' ending...this is the craziest cliffhanger of any season

hell."

Another echoed the sentiment, posting: "Actually really enjoyed #detectiveforst wasn't expecting that ending will there be a season 2?"

Meanwhile, someone else praised actor Borys Szyc, who played the series antagonist.

They wrote: "The antagonist (actor Borys Szyc) is the superstar of this series: a classic, brooding male detective type that we see in many crime dramas, but this title character really works much better than we expected. An absolute must-watch!"

The series stars Borys Szyc, Zuzanna Saporznikow, and Andrzej Bienias.

A synopsis on Netflix reads: "When a detective's maverick approach to investigating gets him suspended, he teams with a journalist to solve a series of brutal murders outside the law."
