A new Netflix series set in an elite private school has captivated fans to the point that they're begging for a second season just days after its release.
There's good TV, and then there's TV that causes its viewers to stream more than 13,000,000 hours of it in less than a week. Netflix's new series is that kind of TV.
Starring Miku Martineau, Ayo Solanke, and Eve Edwards, the psychological thriller follows the story of a Japanese transfer student who arrives at a boarding school and throws its power structure into chaos with her rare talent to gamble and bet.

The series, which is based on a manga titled Kakegurui, features mysteries, challenges and revenge, and fans have responded by describing it as 'absolutely stunning'.

Titled Bet, the series arrived on Netflix on May 15 and quickly made its way to the streamer's top 10 list, with 10 episodes available for fans to sink their teeth into.
You could stretch it out over a series of weeks, but the fact that many fans have already finished and started focusing on season two proves that it's also perfect bingeing material.

The series has been adapted from the manga by director and showrunner Simon Barry, who told Tudum there was 'no point trying to reproduce the original'.
Pointing out the manga 'stands on its own and works perfectly', Barry and his crew instead 'chose to be directed by the spirit Kakegurui inhabits in tone, audaciousness, and fun'.
"To that end, we made something ‘birthed’ from the source material that inspired a new take — one that pays homage to it and doesn’t try to replace it," he added.
