A tense and fiery Netflix series with a 98 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes has captivated viewers who are bingeing the entire thing in a matter of hours.

Starring comedian Ali Wong, known for the rom-com Always Be My Maybe, and The Walking Dead actor Steven Yeun, the drama series arrived on Netflix in 2023 and quickly caught the attention of users on the platform.

The series wastes absolutely no time getting into the action, and viewers went on to describe it as one of the 'sharpest, funniest, and strangely poignant' shows they've come across.

It all takes place after a road rage incident between a 'failing contractor and an unfulfilled entrepreneur' starts to spiral out of control, leading to a feud that brings out some of the darkest impulses in both parties.

Consisting of 10 episodes all under 40 minutes long, the series makes for perfect bingeing material and is the ideal option if you're looking for something to sink your teeth into this weekend.

Titled Beef, the show has secured a score of 87 percent on Rotten Tomatoes' Popcornmeter, and an even more impressive score of 98 percent on the critics' Tomatometer.

"I just finished #BEEFNetflix #beef and wow. One of the best shows I’ve seen in a while," one viewer wrote.

"Amazing performances all around. Yeun and wong are fantastic. Funny, thrilling and anxiety inducing. What a show. Netflix has a WINNER."

This particular viewer wasn't wrong, as Beef went on to secure multiple Emmys in 2024 and allowed Wong to make history by becoming the first Asian-American actress to win Outstanding Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, as well as the first woman of Asian descent to win an Emmy for a lead role, thanks to her performance as Amy Lau.

Meanwhile, Yeun won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his performance in Beef.

In an interview with NPR about his role as Danny Cho, Yeun said: "You know, all the best beefs are when people are equally measured, right?

"Tupac and Biggie don't beef unless they're, like, Tupac and Biggie. We tried to capture that best beef. I think Danny and Amy are equally matched rivals.

"They respect each other. There's a connection underneath the beef connection, if you know what I mean."

Though the two characters definitely didn't see eye-to-eye on the show, Yeun assured it was a different story for the two actors in real life.

He said: "Ali also has just this really warm personality and just warm presence that is really inviting, that is really nurturing and caring. And when you can feel safe and connected to each other off camera, you can really lay into each other on camera."
