The 'flawless' Netflix series which has seen viewers 'binge-watch' to their crime-drama-loving hearts' content has made the streaming service's top non-English series of 'all time'.

There's one show featured on Netflix's top 10 most popular non-English shows not only globally, but also of 'all time', which you may not have heard of.

While most of us binge-watched Squid Game season's one and two as fast as you can say 'green light,' what about a the first chapter of French TV series Lupin?

Granted, it's obtained a staggering 99,500,000 views since it first came out on the streaming service, but if the gripping crime drama has somehow slipped your gaze, let's catch you up.

The thriller was created by George Kay and François Uzan.

It first premiered on Netflix on January 8, 2021, and has gone on to be watched nearly 100 million times - at the time of its release becoming the most-watched non-English series on Netflix, despite its position having fallen slightly in the list to spot number four, at the time of writing.

The series stars Omar Sy, Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, and Soufiane Guerrab.

It centers around Assane Diop (Sy), a man who ended up becoming a professional thief after his father passed away, leaving him flying solo at 14 years old.

Diop was inspired in his own thievery by the adventures of master thief Arsène Lupin, a character created by real-life Maurice Leblanc in his early 1900s novels. Now a father himself, Diop has to weigh up what really matters to him - avenging his father or ensuring he can be a dad to his own son and keep him safe.

So popular has the series been, it's gone on to have three further instalments.

The second season follows not long after the first on Netflix's top global list of non-English series of all time too. Lupin - Part 2 reached 68,400,000 views, at the time of writing.

Lupin's first season won a Critics' Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Series alongside being nominated for an Emmy and Golden Globe.

As one Twitter user wrote: "I binged watch first part last night, hooked from the very first 5 minutes. This series is going to be better than Ocean's 12, 13 and 8 combined."

"Awesome!! Truly enjoyed every moment. Once I saw the first episode it was a must finish to the end. Great job!!" Another added.

A third wrote: "Loved this Series. Binged watched the entire series one. Can’t wait for series two. Dubbed in English and still was flawless."

A Reddit user even dubbed the first episode of the first season 'outstanding'.

But what's next for the series?

Well, luckily for fans of the show (or those of you who have now vowed to binge-watch the first three instalments and catch up), the series was renewed for a fourth part.

The fourth season is reported as being in production, filming underway as per Netflix's Tudum.

So keep your eyes peeled.
