A series that actually got canceled by Fox is now captivating viewers after finding a new home on Netflix.

While watching a new series as soon as it drops is exciting, there's nothing quite like stumbling upon a show that already has an entire back catalogue ready to go.

It solves the problem of wondering what to watch for weeks, and the best part is you don't have to wait an entire year for new seasons to arrive.

There are loads of shows out there that fit this description, but one series in particular has gained attention on LADbible's Netflix Bangers Facebook page after it moved to the streaming service.

Starring Matt Czuchry, who Gilmore Girls fans might recognize as Logan, the series follows a group of doctors working at Chastain Memorial Hospital.

Over the course of six seasons, the group tackle professional challenges while also trying to navigate personal relationships and issues.

Titled The Resident, the series also stars Manish Dayal, Bruce Greenwood, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Tasso Feldman and Emily VanCamp, and first aired in 2018 before coming to an end in 2023.

Despite being canceled by Fox, The Resident became a hit when it moved to Netflix, and last month it made it into the Top 10 TV Shows in the US alongside the likes of 3 Body Problem and The Gentlemen.

New fans of the show have been sharing their praise for the series after it arrived on Netflix, with viewers urging other users to add it to their lists.

"I haven’t put this show down since I picked it up on Netflix," one fan wrote on Netflix Bangers. "I’m finally almost done with Season 3. Whewwwww."

Another fan described the show as 'outstanding' and said they 'need some more seasons', while a third commented: "Soooo good! I'm on season 5 now and can't stop watching!"

Fans have expressed their disappointment at the decision to cancel The Resident, but they could hold out hope that its popularity on Netflix will give it a new lease on life.

Though the cast have now moved on to different projects, it's worth keeping in mind that the success of legal drama Suits on Netflix prompted the creation of the spinoff series Suits: LA - so there's every possibility the same may happen for The Resident.

If creators do decide to make some more episodes, it seems clear there'll already be a fanbase in place, with one other viewer writing: "Amazing show, only show that I watched just finished all 6 seasons. I need more!!"
