A hit drama that fans say is gripping right the way through to its '10/10' finale has just joined Netflix.

If you were left deflated by Monster: The Ed Gein Story and you've already made your way through this 'underrated' sci-fi series, then congratulations; you've just found your next binge-watch.

The TV series in question is made up of seven instalments - including that all-important finale - to really get stuck into.

Having originally aired between 2009 and 2015 on Showtime, it finally joined Netflix US on Tuesday (October 7).

The dark-comedy drama is set in the bustling emergency department of All Saints’ Hospital in New York City.

Edie Falco plays a veteran nurse who juggles the chaos of saving lives with the even greater mess of her own personal demons.

She might be smart and compassionate, but the star nurse is hiding a secret addiction to painkillers.

Over its seven seasons, the show traces her gradual spiral as her addiction tightens its grip.

Each season exposes new cracks in her façade: strained relationships with her husband and children, growing distance from her best friend Dr O’Hara (Eve Best) and professional risks that threaten her career.

Can she pull it all back before her life unravels completely, as each day inches her ever closer to losing the life she worked so hard for?

The series in question is called Nurse Jackie, obviously named after its titular character, Jackie Peyton.

Rounding out the staff at All Saints are Godless star Merritt Wever, Twilight alum Peter Facinelli and The Sopranos' Paul Schulze.

Noticing the new Netflix addition, people took to Reddit to celebrate.

"Finally, Nurse Jackie is on Netflix!" the original poster wrote.

"Seven seasons, 80 episodes of absolutely bingeable, brilliant TV. I've been waiting forever for this to stream on a service with no ads."

They went on to make a case for you to watch it, adding: "If you haven't seen it, you should. Witty dialog, complex storylines, well developed characters. Amazing acting, especially by Edie Falco and Merritt Wever."

Others shared in the OP's enthusiasm, as one responded: "I’m so excited! I’ve also been waiting forever to watch this. It will be my first watch."

"GREAT show! I'll be watching it again!" somebody else added.

No one wants to get stuck in a series with a let-down ending. But Nurse Jackie promises a satisfying finale, with fans rating it a 10/10.

Over on Rotten Tomatoes, one viewer commented: "This final season is absolutely gripping television."

"I'd rate the finale 10 stars," a second wrote. "It couldn't end any other way. Bravo!"

"The perfect ending to a perfect series," another concluded. "Beautifully done."

Nurse Jackie is streaming now on Netflix.
