Netflix subscribers were desperate for more after binge-watching a 'sweet and sharp' Kristen Bell series for 70 million hours.

Obsessed viewers had their wishes granted on Thursday (October 23), when 10 fresh episodes of the addictive TV series dropped.

It comes days after Kristen Bell hit headlines for her 'edgy' wedding anniversary post to husband Dax Shepard.

On Friday (October 17), she joked about the comedian resisting temptation to murder her, sparking major controversy.

This week, the star was absent from a scheduled appearance on the TODAY show to promote the next chapter of her series.

Her co-star, Justine Lupe, sat the interview solo while Bell's whereabouts went unaddressed.

Controversy aside, critics have been left impressed by the show's latest run of episodes.

Set in Los Angeles, it follows agnostic podcaster Joanne (Bell) who unexpectedly falls for rabbi Noah (Adam Brody).

Together they navigate their wildly different lives, traditions and meddling families.

Joanne’s sister Morgan (Lupe) and Noah’s brother Sasha (Timothy Simons) are also in the mix, bringing their own humor and drama.

Having released last September, the first season has been streamed for more than 70.4 million hours, according to FlixPatrol figures.

The show in question is, of course, Nobody Wants This.

Its first season was awarded an incredible 95 percent score by Rotten Tomatoes critics.

They hailed the show a 'welcome binge', praising Bell and Brody's 'irresistible chemistry' and its 'thoughtful consideration' of interfaith romance.

NPR's David Bianculli said it was easy to imagine Nobody Wants This 'emerging rapidly as the rom-com standard for a new age'.

"It's sweet, but it's sharp. It has laughs but also has bite," he added.

Fans also fell in love with the rom-com, leaving many wanting more.

One reckoned it captivates 'with its unique and funny characters and its perfectly balanced comedic tone'.

"This is a binge-watch that deserves several more seasons with these fantastic protagonists," they continued.

One social media user declared it 'one of the best written series' they'd seen in a long time, as they expressed their excitement for season two.

So far, the second season of Nobody Wants This has scored a solid 90 percent rating across 10 critic reviews.

Movies and Munchies' Chris Joyce said the show's 'insightful writing' allows for 'amusing characters' that are 'endearing and outrageous enough to be entertaining'.

Collider’s Isabella Soares also commended the latest instalment, noting its 'whole new layer of realism' as Joanne and Noah move beyond the honeymoon phase and into everyday life.

Both seasons of Nobody Wants This are streaming now on Netflix.
