Netflix subscribers reckon a brand new thriller starring Keira Knightley is a '10/10.'

The movie might only have dropped on Friday (October 10), but it has already shot to the top of the Netflix charts.

It's currently the most-watched film on the platform across the globe, surpassing Caramelo, KPop Demon Hunters, and My Father, the BTK Killer, as per Flixpatrol.

Pirates of the Caribbean alum Keira Knightley leads the cast of the cruise ship thriller film. She plays Laura 'Lo' Blacklock, a journalist on the assignment of a lifetime: to sail on the maiden voyage of a luxurious yacht through the Norwegian fjords.

But on her first night aboard, she witnesses something truly traumatic.

She hears what appears to be a woman falling overboard from her neighboring cabin - or was she pushed?

But when she alerts the crew and other passengers, those involved insist everyone is accounted for and deny any such incident took place.

Undeterred, Lo must put her investigative journalism skills to the test, as she claws together clues and tries to solve the case.

The movie in question is The Woman in Cabin 10, based on the 2016 book by Ruth Ware, and directed by Simon Stone.

Taking to the Netflix Bangers Facebook Group, one fan gave it a glowing recommendation, writing: "The Woman in Cabin 10 is a must watch! 10/10."

Some agreed, as one person wrote: "Just finished it. I agree. Loved it!" as a third added: "I thought it was good. A movie [where] I didn’t predict what was going to happen."

Others didn't quite share the same thoughts, though, with some thinking the film was a little too slow.

Over on Rotten Tomatoes, The Woman in Cabin 10 earned a dire 26 per cent score from critics.

Viewers didn't rate it much higher, at 34 per cent. But still, a few people reckoned it was worth watching.

"I read and loved the book, so was keen to see the film adaptation," one wrote. "This is a more than solid take. Keira Knightley is a good choice for Laura's character. Guy Pierce is always fun to watch. It's not perfect but I think it deserves far better reviews than I've seen so far!"

"It fits the bill for a thriller film with great visuals, good cast and twist and turns," another said.

Meanwhile, director Stone admitted filming the movie was his 'worst nightmare.' Shot on a yacht while sailing the English Channel, it was a challenging setup.

He said: “Usually on film sets there are ways to escape. You can say, ‘I’m just going to my trailer for a second,’ or someone can drive to Costa Coffee for you.

“But out in the middle of the English Channel, leaving at seven in the morning and coming back at eight in the evening, you’re stuck on the boat.

"There’s literally nowhere to go. The only way to escape would be to jump overboard."

He continued: "It was almost my worst nightmare at first, not having control over my method of escape. But I had to surrender. It actually teaches you to surrender.”

The Woman in Cabin 10 is streaming now on Netflix.
