Keira Knightley is starring in a hot new drama that is coming to Netflix, and the director has admitted that much of the flick was a nightmare to film.
While Keira Knightly is fondly remembered for her work in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, she has a whole host of brilliant films under her belt. And over 20 years on from the franchise, the British actress couldn’t be happier with some of the films she has been making.
She is set to star in Netflix film The Woman in Cabin 10, based on the 2016 bestselling novel by Ruth Ware.
The story focuses on Knightley as Laura 'Lo' Blacklock, a journalist, who has been assigned to cover the maiden voyage of a luxurious travel yacht through the Norwegian fjords, but everything isn’t what it seems.

She then puts her life on the line to try and uncover what is really going on.
While Knightley is happy about this latest project, which is set to hit Netflix on October 10, the director, Simon Stone, has admitted that it was a bit of a ‘nightmare’ filming the movie.
Noting how the cast and crew filmed it on a yacht while sailing in the English Channel, Stone admitted this came with its own set of challenges.
He said: “Usually on film sets there are ways to escape
“You can say, ‘I’m just going to my trailer for a second,’ or someone can drive to Costa Coffee for you.
“But out in the middle of the English Channel, leaving at seven in the morning and coming back at eight in the evening, you’re stuck on the boat. There’s literally nowhere to go. The only way to escape would be to jump overboard.
“It was almost my worst nightmare at first, not having control over my method of escape. But I had to surrender. It actually teaches you to surrender.”
Fans can only hope this claustrophobic anxious feeling comes across in the finished product.
Director Simon Stone revealed shooting on a yacht in the English Channel came with its own challenges (Netflix) Speaking to PA about the upcoming film, Knightley has said she is enjoying her cool ‘thriller era’.
