Kristen Bell was missing from a scheduled talk show appearance days after going viral - for all the wrong reasons.
The Nobody Wants This star marked her and husband Dax Shepard's twelfth wedding anniversary by sharing a controversial Instagram post on Friday (October 17).
The pair began dating in 2007 before tying the knot in Beverly Hills six years later. They share two daughters, Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10.
"Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: 'I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point.

"'Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would,'" she wrote, alongside a photo of the couple embracing.
Bell and Shepard are known for their wicked sense of humor and oversharing intimate details of their relationship - including some nude images, albeit censored.

While some people thought Bell's 'joke' was harmless and in keeping with the pair's usual whacky humor, others reckoned it was a step too far.

"I'm glad they get each other’s humor. And I’m glad I do not," one Reddit user said, while second agreed: "Exactly this. I get that it's supposed to be funny, but I did not laugh."
Bell's badly-timed post was shared during Domestic Violence Month, which, declared by Congress in 1989, is dedicated to uplifting the stories and voices of survivors.
A spokesperson from National Network to End Domestic Violence told Page Six there was 'nothing funny' about domestic violence jokes that 'trivialize the very real fear, trauma and pain that millions of victims and survivors face each day.'

This all came days before the second instalment of Bell's hit Netflix series, Nobody Wants This, released on Thursday (October 23).
It follows Bell as a Los Angeles podcaster who falls in love with a newly single rabbi, against all odds.
She was due to appear on NBC's TODAY on Wednesday morning (October 22) to promote the show alongside co-star Justine Lupe, as per the program's schedule.
But Lupe sat down for the interview alone, with Bell’s absence going completely unacknowledged.
The reason for her absence is yet to be addressed.

The previous day, Bell once again took to social media as she prepared to do press for Nobody Wants This.
She shared a photo of herself on a plane to her Instagram Stories, while in another video she was seen getting glammed up, as per Page Six.
“I cannot wait to tell you about Season 2 of @Nobodywantsthisofficial !!” she posted in text overlay.
UNILAD has contacted NBC and Kristen Bell's representatives for comment.
