Mark Wahlberg finally responds to Entourage reboot rumors

The Departed actor was a producer on Entourage, with the HBO series also being loosely based on his early career.

Mark Wahlberg has finally addressed the rumours surrounding a possible Entourage reboot.

The hit HBO series ran from 2004 to 2011 and followed fictional A-lister Vincent Chase and his childhood friends as they try to make it big in Hollywood.

Loosely based on Wahlberg’s life, the Ted actor was an executive producer on the series and recently revealed whether or not he'd revisit the series.

The Departed star played a huge part in bringing the original series to the small screen and Wahlberg even held chemistry tests for the Entourage cast.

During a recent interview with Page Six, the 51-year-old recalled running auditions in Vegas with lead actors - including Adrian Grenier.

He told the tabloid: "Before we shot the pilot, I brought all the guys to Vegas… It was a bit of a chemistry thing, getting ready to come and cut loose.”

Despite the sin-city auditions taking place nearly twenty years ago, the Ted actor joked ‘it felt like yesterday’.

Though the HBO series often followed the rather, um, not-safe-for-work antics of the titular entourage, Wahlberg admitted that the show would be very different two decades on.

Having relocated to Vegas with his family, he joked that an Entourage reboot ‘might not as exciting’.

“It would look like an older group of guys probably doing things more like me, going to church and you know hopefully having families and getting up early and working out,” he quipped.

“Might not be as exciting as when they were running the night clubs and running all around Vegas.”

However, this hasn’t stopped the A-Lister from giving his blessing to a new series.

“I don’t know if that’s going to happen but I would definitely support it,” the Boogie Nights actor admitted, calling the show a ‘cultural phenomenon’.

Continuing, he revealed that he’d been ‘sad to see the show end’ as he felt the cast and crew did an ‘amazing job’.

He’s not the only one considering a possible Entourage comeback.

Lead Adrian Grenier has also said he'd be 'open' to returning.

Adrian Grenier, the show’s lead actor, has said that he’d been ‘open’ to reprising his role in a previous interview with ET Canada.

He told the outlet: “First, I'll look at the deal. What is it? What are we doing? I'm pretty open to anything. I'm pretty focused right now, but if there's an opportunity to reboot Entourage, I'd certainly take a look.”

However, the 46-year-old wasn’t so confident about his character’s place in the spotlight and thinks Vince may have finally been outshone by some of his entourage.

Greiner joked: "I think Turtle would be Vince. Turtle would be the celebrity. And I'd drive him."

Them’s the breaks, we guess.
