Iron Man and Black Widow weren't the only original Avengers Kevin Feige wanted to kill off

Fair warning, there's spoilers for Avengers: Endgame in this article, but if you've not seen it yet what are you doing?
President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige wanted to kill off more original Avengers.
Move over Game of Thrones, because it seems that the reigning king of killing our favourite characters might just be Kevin, kind of.
In a recent interview, the film's directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that Kevin's initial pitch for Avengers: Endgame was way more brutal.

When the film of the century was still in production, there were a lot of rumours about who would be killed off.
For those not familiar, Endgame was always going to see major characters die, given that Infinity War saw Thanos literally wipe out half the universe.
However, who would stay dead/sacrifice themselves was up in the air for some time.
And, Kevin actually had a pretty drastic initial pitch, with director Joe saying in an interview on the Sad Happy Confused podcast: "Kevin did actually pitch, at one point, taking all the OGs off the board.
"We thought it was way too aggressive and that the audience wouldn't be able to process it. And that, in fact, picking one or two characters to make sacrifices throughout the movie might give you moments throughout the film where the action could stop and you could have emotional catharsis and then continue with the narrative."
Yep, you heard that right, wipe them all off the board, as if our beloved heroes were a mind map on a whiteboard.
Still, we're glad this wasn't the case because we honestly don't think we would've coped.
Instead of killing off all the Avengers, it seems that Kevin settled on adding more, with the studio confirming late last month that two new Marvel films were making their way to us in 2025.
Those films are Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
They will be part of the newly-announced Multiverse Saga and will be Phase 6 of the MCU.
Phase 4 is set to end in November 2022 with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with Phase 5 beginning in February 2023, and then the long-awaited return of the Avengers in 2025.
The two new films will be the first since Endgame and the lineup of heroes is yet to be confirmed.
One thing seems pretty certain, it's probably not going to be any of the characters Kevin had killed in the last film.
Not that we're still upset or anything.
