Jenna Ortega has finally broken her silence on the x-rated scenes she shared with Martin Freeman in Miller’s Girl.

The actor is in the midst of her press tour for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the sequel to 80s classic, when she opened up about the controversy surrounding the intimate scene.

Ortega starred opposite Freeman in the erotic thriller earlier this year, in which an illicit affair takes place between Ortega’s character, an 18-year-old, and her creative writing teacher, played by British actor Freeman.

The film features x-rated sex scenes between the pair, acting out a steamy story written by Ortega’s character.

As well as this, the two share a kiss, which is what inspired Ortega’s sexual fan fiction about the two of them.

Social media users were understandably taken aback at the scenes, leaving viewers ‘disturbed’.

One posted: “Bro I did not need to see Jenna Ortega and Martin Freeman getting it on on the tl," as another said: “I feel very weird while watching this or it just me ?? sorry but not sorry bruh!”

A third chimed in, jokingly saying: “NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! Jenny Ortega, how dare you act such a scene. That's it, You are grounded, grounded, grounded, grounded, grounded, grounded, grounded until the next season of Netflix’s Wednesday Series.”

Others, however, pointed to the fact that, realistically, if you watched an erotic thriller starring the pair, you shouldn’t have expected any different.

One fan commented on the situation saying: “People know she's 21 and she's an actress right, she's not Wednesday.”

And another said: “An erotic thriller starring Martin Freeman and Jenna Ortega lol like what were people expecting."

Ortega opened up on the scene in a new interview with Vanity Fair, where she said: “It’s not supposed to be a comfortable movie. It’s supposed to be awful at times.

“Art isn’t always meant to be pleasant or happy, and everyone skips off into the sunset at the end. We all have f**ked-up experiences at one point or another.”

This mirrors the reaction of another member of the Miller’s Girl set, the film’s intimacy co-ordinator.

In an interview with the Mail Online, Kristina Arjona said: “Many, many people throughout [the] process' of filming the scene who engaged with Ortega 'to make sure that it was consistent with what she was comfortable with'.

"I adapt to whatever is the comfort level of my actors, especially on a production like this where there is a large age gap between the actors."
