People are saying The Simpsons is finally good again after at least two decades

Apparently The Simpsons is 'good again' average two decades of average viewing.

The Simpsons fans are breathing a sigh of relief in the wake of the news that show is now 'good again'.

The popular cartoon first started airing regularly in 1990, and went on to become a household favourite across the globe.

The Simpsons' original network was Fox and was later acquired by Disney in 2019, and is now available for fans to binge as they please on Disney+.

While I've personally always enjoyed pretty much all episodes of The Simpsons ('How I Wet Your Mother' I found particularly entertaining), some feel that the programme began to suffer around season 10.

As per Screenrant, 'cracks began to show in season 9', with the publication's journalist Dusty Stowe adding: "The show's sense of humor has continued to evolve over the years, and has filtered out some of those problems, but the show is unmistakably blander, safer, and less funny since the shifts that started in season 9, and really took hold in season 10."

But, several seasons later, it appears as if The Simpsons fans are seeing a change in the show - so much so they're labelling it as 'good again'.

Some argued that the show wasn't as good after season 10.

According to Vulture, it was between seasons 32 and 34 that began to show promise, with the The Simpsons seeing a 24 percent increase in demand.

With this in mind, reporter Jesse David Fox said said in his feature: "What these past two seasons revealed is that there are still new dimensions of Homer and Marge and new visions of their world worth watching for 22 minutes."

Fans have echoed similar sentiments online in light of season 35 premiering earlier this month.

One person wrote on X: "I'm glad that it seems that more people are recognizing that The Simpsons is good again because the last few seasons I've watched have genuinely amused me with the way they've switched to a more surreal and absurdist style of humor."

"Absolutely incredible Simpsons episode dropped last night," another person wrote on October 9.

"Feels like Marge's version of El Viage Misteriostro de Nuestro Homer. Got REAL close to crying a bunch. Been saying it for years, The Simpsons is a solid good show again!!!"

A third went on: "I genuinely think The Simpsons is actually pretty good again.

"Clever and satirical in a way that made the show funny but also heartfelt."

"I’m genuinely surprised by how good it’s been improved vastly," they added.

If you needed a reason to start watching The Simpsons again - this is it.
