People have been left gobsmacked after a photo of the food served at the Critics Choice Awards began doing the rounds online.
With some of the biggest names in film, TV and pop culture, you'd imagine the venue hosting the award ceremony would go above and beyond with their menu. But while the trophies were flowing, it seems the catering once again left a lot to be desired.
After winning Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy, Abbott Elementary star Janelle James didn’t hold back as she took to the stage. The 46-year-old used her moment in the spotlight to roast the event’s organisers over what guests are - or aren’t - fed on the night.
The comedy star joked: "The best thing about being nominated 4 times is I finally realized they're never gonna feed us at this thing. It's gonna be grapes and ice cream every year, but this makes up for it!"

One person on X commented: "Janelle James just won her first Critics' Choice award ever, and her speech was perfect lol."

However, things escalated after a photo of the plate guests received started circulating online, leaving social media users in genuine shock.
“This is what they’re feeding you?!” one person commented, with another adding: “Bro what the f**kkkk.”
While a third quipped: “This looks like a meal on a United flight, not at an award show.”
The backlash isn’t exactly surprising, given the Critics Choice Awards’ history with questionable menus. Last year, the ceremony went viral after guests were served individually wrapped slices of pizza - dubbed 'pizza in a bag' by the internet.
The reaction back then was just as brutal, with Oprah Winfrey, Fantasia Barrino and Taraji P. Henson among those caught on camera looking less than impressed. Even Paul Giamatti leaned into the chaos, joking on stage about needing an endorsement deal for 'pizza in a bag'.

Despite the food drama, the night was one to remember for the likes of Timothée Chalamet, who won Best Actor for Marty Supreme, and 16-year-old Owen Cooper, who made history as the youngest male actor to ever win a Critics Choice Award - landing Best Supporting Actor for his role in Adolescence.
Chalamet thanked his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, during his Best Actor speech at the Critics Choice Awards, saying: “Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn't do this without you.”
Many took to social media to point out Chalamet's relationship admission regarding how long he's been dating Jenner.
"Omg he will propose this year," one fan suggested, while a second added: "THREE WHOLE YEARS?!?!?!"
Well, it seems like 2026 is Chalamet's year so I wouldn't be surprised if an engagement was brewing.
