The long-awaited DC Studios reboot has finally been revealed and hoo boy, it is good.

DC Studios, under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran, has dropped some major bombshells about the currently higglety-pigglety DC Universe.

In a mass studio shake-up, Gunn revealed on social media that fans can expect a new era of DC Studios going forward, starting with 'Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters'.

Gunn confirmed all DC films yet to be released - so, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle and Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom - will not be scrapped and will still make it to cinemas.

    Goodie.

Gunn also revealed when exactly the DC Comics universe will be rebooted.

With Ezra Miller's upcoming superhero flick The Flash, of course, which is out June 16.

In the first phase of their new and improved, interconnected DC universe, fans will cop a string of new TV shows, movies, and games.

They're designed to give the studio a cohesive step forward, so out with the old, disjointed DC, and in with the new, interconnected DC as the old adage goes.

But what can fans expect to see on the big and small screens?

Gunn has talked up a whopping 10 titles so far.

For TV, fans will cop an animated series Creature Commandos with seems to include Weasel from The Suicide Squad.

Embattled actor Ezra Miller as The Flash.

Plus, a cool addition: Gunn has written the first batch of episodes and the plan is for characters to cross between animated and live-action, and for the same actor to both voice and play the role where possible.

DC revealed a Peacemaker spin-off series Waller with Viola Davis.

That will be followed by Lanterns, which was described as True Detective with a 'terrifying mystery' that links spanning across the DC universe.

Paradise Lost will be a Game of Thrones-style drama set on all-female island Themyscira,Wonder Woman’s birthplace.

The show will be set before the Wonder Woman films.

Booster Gold is being slated as a series about a loser from the future who travels back in time to be a hero using his modern technology.

Gunn described it as 'imposter syndrome in superhero form', which sounds like a real gas.

Turning to movies, here is the question on everyone's lips: Superman.

The next Superman movie will kick the new DCU into overdrive with Superman: Legacy.

Gunn revealed he is writing a new take on the classic hero, and that is set to come out on 11 July 2025.

    No actor was announced.

The Authority: A movie based on a team of superheroes who will go to any extent necessary to protect the planet. Yikes.

Also in movies, Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow will boast a 'darker, harsher' version of Supergirl.

And, finally, Swamp Thing. This film will be a horror origin story for the creature, while still intersecting with the rest of the DCU.

There was no announcement as to who would replace Henry Cavill as Superman.
    DC Comics

But what about Robert Pattinson's The Batman or the upcoming Joker sequel?

Wellm They will fall under the umbrella title 'Elseworlds'.

"The bar for an Elseworlds tale is going to be higher than the bar for a movie within the DCU," Gunn said on Twitter.

"Not that we’re not always going to have a high bar, but it’s got to be something really special for us to tell that story outside of our regular continuity and to spend the money to make it."

So, basically, not connected to the border DCU.

Well, folks, there you have it.

It's time to get excited people, because DC may finally be on its way to recognising its full potential.
