Film fanatics are raving over a new horror film which has been described as an 'instant classic' by many.

M3gan hit US cinemas on Friday (6 January) and is set to release in the UK next Friday (13 January).

The film is directed by Gerard Johnstone, with Akela Cooper on board as a writer and Jason Blum, James Wan and Couper Samuelson as producers.

Its casting includes Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Jen Van Epps, Ronny Chieng and Brian Jordan Alvarez.

M3gan is a creepy creation, a life-like doll made by artificial intelligence, which is designed to be a child's companion and the parent's greatest ally.

The doll is designed by Gemma (Allison Williams) - a toy-company roboticist, who is rather clever in the AI space.

But when Gemma suddenly becomes the guardian of her orphaned eight-year-old niece Cady (Violet McGraw), she pairs the doll with Cady as she is rather busy at work.

But as you'd expect from any true horror, things go drastically wrong.

It seems as though film fans have been loving M3gan though and the many plot twists such horrors can provide.

Many in the US who are lucky enough to have already watched the film have taken to social media to discuss one of 2023's first horrors.

Despite only being out for a matter of days, film fanatics are raving about M3gan, with some even describing it as an 'instant classic'.

One person on Twitter wrote: "Yo #M3GAN is an instant classic 👌 absolutely loved it 🙌 #M3GANMovie."

A second added: "I need M3GAN on DVD. Instant classic in my eyes. She was both hilarious and savage."

And a third simply said: "m3gan instant classic."

Meanwhile, a fourth echoed similar opinion: "I’m sorry but #M3GAN is an instant classic & i’m ready for a sequel…"

There was even one person on Twitter who believed M3gan would be an instant classic back in October after they found out who was working on the project.

They said: "M3GAN written by writer of Malignant, directed by writer director of Housebound… yup about to be an instant classic!"

It is not just fans that are raving about M3gan, but film critics are also ringing its praises.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film sits at an impressive 94 percent - making it a clear recommendation by the review aggregation site.
