A discussion has been raised over the 'best plot twist in cinematic history', and many believe that a certain psychological thriller can stake a claim to the title.
There are some epic plot twists that have graced our screens, my favorite probably goes to the scene where each of the separate storylines come together in hilarious fashion in Crazy, Stupid, Love - and I'm not even a huge fan of rom-coms!
But we're not here for Steve Carell, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling today. Instead, this film follows actors Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner, as best friends Becky and Shiloh.

The pair embark on a mission to climb to the top of a 2,000ft tall TV tower to scatter the ashes of Becky’s husband Dan, who died in a climbing accident.
However, when the ladder they used to reach the top of the tower breaks, the two women become stranded at the top, completely unable to get back down to Earth.

And if that isn’t quite tense enough for you, the bag carrying their supplies - including water - falls just out of reach and neither woman can get their phone to work, meaning a simple call for help is also out of reach.

The movie I'm speaking about is, of course, the survival thriller Fall, which was released back in 2022 and left viewers 'sick to their stomach'.
Posting a clip on Twitter of one part in the film that shows a glimpse of the plot twist, one user captioned it: "One of the most horrifying plot twist in the history of cinema."
Other social media users were quick to join in on the conversation as one commented: "Didn’t expect that twist at all, total mindgame. Cinema alpha if you ask me."
Another added: "It was a wild one for sure. Gave me anxiety like a mofo."
Someone else wrote: "I watched this on an airplane. I don’t recommend watching on an airplane."

Which garnered a response from one person, who stated: "I need to NOT think about heights at all while I’m flying."
Meanwhile, another user questioned the physics behind the scene, noting: "Yall have no idea how bright and hot those lights are.
"Mind you, I’ve never worked for a company that built or maintained these towers."
So let's detail what the plot twist is then - so if you plan on watching Fall then please heed this warning that there's a spoiler coming up!

As explained by a multitude of commenters on the post, it refers to how Becky's friend begins talking to her - despite having died earlier in the movie.
"The plot twist is that the friend below her died earlier from falling onto the platform and she's been hallucinating her alive the entire time," one user explained.
Another revealed: "The last scene shows the blonde chick is not really there on the platform, meaning the brunette chick has been hallucinating her for some time. THAT is the plot twist."

Fall is certainly worth a watch, with a score of 6.4 on IMDb and 79 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
