As The Mandalorian comes to an end next week, actor Brendan Wayne has teased that the final episode will ‘hurt’.

It comes after the latest episode, The Spies, which showed Din Djarin being captured by Giedion in the ongoing fight for the Darksaber.

The actor and stuntman has doubled for Din (Pedro Pascal) throughout the third season of the Star Wars spin-off and regularly shares stills from behind the scenes on Instagram.

Though the final instalment of season three of the Disney+ show won’t go live until 19 April, Wayne still taunted fans with a new image of him on set.

In an Instagram story, he appeared in an exact copy of Din’s iconic costume and told followers: "This next episode is gonna make you wish you hadn't asked for [another episode]."

Wayne then frustrated many across the fandom, by adding: "It might just hurt too much."

As viewers continue to speculate about the upcoming finale of The Mandalorian and the show’s future after season three, executive producer Dave Filoni has also spoken about the as-yet-unseen episode.

During the Star Wars Celebration fan convention last weekend, the writer and executive producer was asked how he thinks fans will react to the eighth episode.

"I hope they really enjoyed it," Filoni said, adding: "I think they'll have a lot to think about."

While this may give fans reason to assume there will be a happy ending, he also said that viewers will have a lot to ‘think back on’ during the interview.

His comments come after creator Jon Favreau confirmed that scripts had been written for a possible fourth season, as production wrapped on the third.

While Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to announce a new chapter in The Mandalorian, Filoni also seemed to hit at a new season.

Pedro Pascal has starred in the show since the first series.

Speaking about this series finale, he told Collider: "They'll [fans] have a lot to take in, and I think with any good ending there's the moment you're in it when you're cheering and you feel satisfied, but then there's a little bit after that where you think back at all the things that happened.”

Continuing, Filoni hinted at the characters that may be affected by forces beyond the Mandalore.

He said: “Maybe you start to put them together in a different way and you realize it's an ending, but there are other things happening out there in the galaxy that now you know more about."

The season 3 finale of The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ on 19 April.
