Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin call off divorce just two months after filing papers, attorney says

Flavin previously said their marriage was 'irretrievably broken'

Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin are said to have called off their divorce just weeks after their separation was made public.

Well, we all know relationships can be... rocky.

News of the reunion comes after Flavin filed for a petition 'for dissolution of marriage' in August, when court documents revealed that she had described the marriage as 'irretrievably broken'.

The pair married in 1997 and share three daughters together, 25-year-old Sophia, 24-year-old Sistine and 20-year-old Scarlet.

Following the initial news of their divorce, Stallone released a statement via his representative in which he said the family were 'amicably and privately addressing these personal issues'.

The Rocky actor [cue the 'Ohhh' for anyone who didn't get my joke earlier] also took to Instagram to share a photo of himself in character and a video in which he spoke about pain being a 'good omen'.

Hear his apparent metaphor about the divorce below:

Referring to a battered pair of trainers from his time on the set of Rocky, he explained: "The entire choreography and training for the film, I cut the opening of my shoe so my swollen foot could get in it, and we kept moving forward. Kept moving forward. So, I keep this as a reminder. When it hurts, sometimes, that's a good omen. Because when it comes too easy, it's usually not very good. Anyway, keep punching."

Thankfully moving forward appears to have yielded positive results for Stallone and Flavin because over the last few weeks they seem to have made amends.

On 23 September, Stallone's rep told Page Six: “They decided to meet back up at home, where they talked and were able to work out their differences. They are both extremely happy.”

Exactly two weeks later, an attorney for the actor told Us Weekly that Stallone and Flavin have called off their legal separation.

"We can confirm the divorce case has been dismissed today (7 October)," they said.

A source told People that the couple has decided to 'reverse course and try again', with news of the divorce being dismissed coming as the couple were photographed having dinner together in New York City.

When celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary earlier this year, both Stallone and Flavin expressed their love for their other half and indicated their hopes for a long future together.

"There is not enough words to describe what this incredibly selfless dedicated, patient, woman has meant to our lives and I only wish they could be another 25," Stallone wrote.

Meanwhile, Flavin said the couple's marriage 'keeps getting better every year' and added: "I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together!"
