Rebel Wilson praised for re-wearing the same Oscars gown from three years ago

The actor also revealed that she had previously worn the dress when she was 80 pounds heavier

Rebel Wilson has been praised for wearing the same Oscars dress from three years ago.

Turns out the Pitch Perfect star doesn't mind being an outfit repeater.

The actor hit the blue carpet at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts for the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party in a stunning Jason Wu gown.

However, she revealed on Instagram that the frock was first worn at the Academy Awards back in 2020.

"Oscars 2023. Sustainably re-wearing my @jasonwu dress from the Oscars a few years ago," she said.

Many praised the actor for recycling the outfit while curbing fast fashion.

One person wrote: "You both looked so gorgeous loved seeing you both and @rebelwilson @ramonaagruma sustainability I wore Oscar dress few years ago toooooooo."

Another said: "I love that dress, it would be a shame if you only wore it once!"

While a third commented: "Wear it over and over. You (both) look amazing!"

The actor also revealed that she had previously worn the dress when she was 80 pounds heavier but got it taken in at the back so that it would fit now she has lost 80 pounds.

Wilson appeared on the red carpet alongside her partner Ramona Agruma, whom she revealed she was engaged to last month.

Wilson shared on February 20 that Agruma had gotten down on one knee to Instagram.

She was snapped with her finance in matching pink and white striped sweaters with a black heart stitched in the centre of each jumper outside Sleeping Beauty castle at Disneyland.

Wilson also showed off her new bling as the couple kissed passionately.

She wrote: "We said YES! Thank you @tiffanyandco for the stunning ring šŸ’ and to Bob Iger and the incredible team at Disneyland @disneyweddings for pulling off this magical surprise."

Wilson first went public with Agruma in June last year, telling the world she had officially found her 'Disney princess'.

However, a week later, the actor revealed that she felt pressured to go public with her sexuality after journalist Andrew Hornery approached her for comment for a Sydney Morning Herald story.

Hornery has since apologized and claimed he never meant to 'out' Wilson.

In an opinion piece, he wrote: "I genuinely regret that Rebel has found this hard.

"That was never my intention. But I see she has handled it all with extraordinary grace. As a gay man Iā€™m well aware of how deeply discrimination hurts. The last thing I would ever want to do is inflict that pain on someone else."
