People Can't Believe How Unflattering Kardashian Court Sketches Are As They Appear Online

Blac Chyna has accused the Kardashian family of defaming her

Social media users can't get over the court sketches that are emerging from the trial of former reality television star Blac Chyna against the Kardashian family.

Chyna, whose legal name is Angela White, is the ex-fiancée of Rob Kardashian, the younger brother of Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé Kardashian. The couple previously had a reality series titled Rob & Chyna, a spinoff of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but the show was cancelled as the second season was being filmed.

The model launched a $100 million lawsuit against the Kardashian family in 2017, claiming they had defamed her, illegally interfered with her contracts and business dealings and used their power to bring an end to her career in reality TV, with opening statements in the case taking place this week.

Cameras are allowed in some US courts, but for those where they are banned or not used sketch artists often offer the only way those outside the courtroom can get a visual on the events. That's the case with the ongoing Kardashian-Chyna case, for which illustrator Mona Shafer Edwards is in charge of creating sketches from the proceedings.

The artist, whose work covers everything from 'courtroom' to 'travel' and 'fashion', took to Instagram to share some of her work this week, posting a sketch of Chyna and writing: "Blac Chyna v Kardashian Family… Reality TV and Court collide!"

Other sketches show Kim, Khloe, Kylie Jenner and 'momager' Kris Jenner, though social media users aren't entirely convinced with the likeness of the drawings.

"Who ever did the court sketch did the kardashian jenners dirty hahahhaha [sic]," one Twitter user wrote, while another added: "I have been laughing at the Kardashians’ court room sketch since last night. Kim Kardashian looks like she’s copying Khloe’s answers on a quiz..."

Some social media users joked Edwards must 'hate' Kylie for the way she was represented in the sketches or that she 'must be Team Chyna', with one alleging the artist was 'not a Kardashian fan'.

"The Kardashian vs Blac Chyna court case sketches are everything," another wrote.

Not everyone was so critical, though, with commenters on Edwards' Instagram saying she 'captured their look' and describing the work as 'beautiful'.

Kim, Khloé, Kris, Rob, Kylie, Chyna and former Rob & Chyna executive producer Ryan Seacrest all feature on the witness list for the trial, which is set to last 10 days.
