OJ Simpson's awkward reaction after being asked about 'killer' of Nicole and Ron

OJ Simpson was accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman but was controversially found not guilty

An interviewer has been praised for their ‘bravery’ after grilling OJ Simpson about the killer of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman, having been met with an inevitably frosty reaction.

The former actor and American footballer was accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman, who were found stabbed to death on the night of 12 June 1994.

The case kicked off a highly publicised 11-month trial that attracted global attention, with around 150 million people watching as Simpson was given a hugely controversial not guilty verdict on 3 October 1995.

Simpson, 75, was later found responsible for the pair's deaths in a civil trial, but has always maintained that he is innocent.

In a new interview on the Full Send Podcast, Simpson was asked if he felt ‘upset’ that the killer of Ron and Nicole was never found.

He replied: “Right now, I’m not going to discuss any of that, alright?

"Yeah, I think that’s a pretty obvious question, but I’m not getting into that. I’m not going there.”

Nelk Boys’ Kyle Forgeard then asked: “You don’t think that they’re still out there?”

Simpson didn't seem too happy with the question.

But Simpson remained a closed book.

“I’m not going there,” he said.

The exchange was praised online by listeners, with some saying Forgeard was ‘brave’ for putting the question to him, even if he was met with a somewhat awkward – albeit not entirely surprising – reaction.

One commented on TikTok: “Props to Kyle for bringing it up and actually asking a question like that though. His reaction says it all.”

Someone else said: “Great questions.”

A third added: “This man is so brave for asking this lol.”

In the wake of the trial of the century, Simpson moved to Miami, Florida, where he continued to land himself in legal trouble for a variety of offences.

In 2008, he was sentenced to 33 years in prison for armed robbery and kidnapping charges, and was released on parole in 2017.

In another interview last year, Simpson said that, while no one has ever been pinned for the murders, he had always believed the culprit would one day be caught.

Speaking to The Athletic as part of their 100 greatest NFL players series, he said: “I figured eventually somebody would confess to something, you know?”

Simpson added: “I had one suspect I told my lawyers to look at. I still think he might be involved, but I can’t talk about it.”
