Some things are just universally despised, like bad WiFi, migraines and Nickelback.
However, Lizzo has come out swinging against the band's critics.
In a resurfaced video, shared by CBC Music’s Jam or Not Jam in 2020, the ‘Truth Hurts’ singer says that Nickelback gets ‘too much s**t’ while singing along to their 2001 hit ‘How You Remind Me.’

She adds that the song has a ‘beautiful climax’.
And we have to kind of agree.
Word even reached the '90s and early '00s band, who thanked Lizzo for her praise.
They wrote in response to the video: “Thank you @lizzo for the kind words! Open invite any show any time.. maybe see you in Houston this summer?”
Many others also jumped on the bandwagon.

One person wrote: “I've always wondered this! @Nickelback is one of my all-time favourite bands. I will never understand the hate."
Another said: "I agree with Lizzo…I don’t care what anyone says. If 'Photograph' starts playing, I’m singing the s**t out of that song."
A third commented: "Lizzo is going to lead a Nickelback resurgence- she really is a queen."
While another said: "The Nickelback-Lizzo crossover I didn't know I needed!"
Despite all the love here, the band has garnered so much hate over the years.

Finnish student Salli Anttonen even underwent a study to determine why many can't stand them.
After painstakingly sifting through 14 years of terrible reviews, Attonen concluded that the group suffers from an authenticity deficit in music journalists' eyes.
"Nickelback is too much of everything to be enough of something," Anttonen told the BBC.
"They follow genre expectations too well, which is seen as empty imitation."

To put it plainly, they lack originality and are a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy.
When asked by Jorge Botas of Portugal's Metal Global, Nickelback's lead singer Chad Kroeger even can pinpoint when people began turning off the Canadian rock band.
He said: “I think I’ve got a pretty good grasp of where things kind of went off the rails for us.
"I think that because we write so many different kinds of music, I think that if you were listening to a radio station any time between 2000 and 2010, ’11, ’12 even, we were kind of tough to get away from."
