Justice League Director Zack Snyder says he would work with Amber Heard again 'in a second'

He doesn't understand why so many people hate the Aquaman star.

Zack Snyder doesn't understand the world's hatred of Amber Heard.

It's safe to say the Aquaman star has copped some of the most vitriolic condemnation following her defamation trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp.

While there was a small army of Heard fans during the case, the court of public opinion seemed heavily sided on the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.

The 37-year-old has since moved to Spain with her daughter to be away from the prying eyes of the American media.

However, at least she can count Snyder as a supporter.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Justice League director has been bewildered to see so mate hate flung towards Heard.

“I just don’t get it,” he said.

“If other people don’t like her, I don’t know what to say. I would work with her in a second.”

The two worked together on Justice League, which saw the likes of Batman, Aquaman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and Cyborg team up to save the world from the catastrophic threat of Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons.

It's unlikely Heard will appear again as Mera in the Aquaman film franchise, as the future of that saga remains very unclear.

The only films she's had since the defamation trial have been the Aquaman sequel as well as a movie called In the Fire.

Earlier this year, she also said that she has been enjoying living in Spain, so it might be hard to entice her back to the bright lights of Hollywood.

"I love Spain so much," she explained to a local reporter in Madrid back in June.

They asked her if she plans to stay, she replied: "Yes, I hope so. Yes, I love living here."

She also added that she has more projects on the horizon and that she is moving on from last year's trial.

Snyder is in a similar boat when it comes to superhero films and the DC Extended Universe.

He has bid farewell to that world and has directed am American epic space opera film called Rebel Moon.
