Ruth Codd has explained why she's had her second leg amputated.
Codd, best known for starring in The Midnight Club, How To Train Your Dragon, The Fall of the House of Usher and, most recently, Celebrity Traitors, took to TikTok in recent days to give a health update.
The 29-year-old had one leg amputated when she was 23, following an injury she sustained while playing soccer aged 15 that did not heal properly, and has now had her second leg amputated below the knee.
"Hi guys, so I have some good news and some bad news," Codd started the video that's now been viewed more than a million times. "Good news, we’ve had a full circle moment, I’m back making TikTok content in my parents’ house."

She added: "Bad news, I can’t do it in front of that lovely blue floral wallpaper anymore, due to the fact that, that room is upstairs, and I’ve just had my second below-knee amputation.
"So unfortunately, those facilities are not available to me at the current moment in time, yes, so lots of unpack there for everyone involved."
The Irish actress went on to say that she had also got a new wheelchair, which she had named 'Fat Tony' that has a speed of 'f**k all'.

Codd has since been showered with support from people online, to which she responded in the comments section: "Guys stop being nice to me it's weirding me out."
As to why Codd has decided to have her second leg amputated, she says that prolonged crutch use 'destroyed' the joints in her feet.
Speaking a week ahead of the surgery, Codd said in a video shared on FFTV's Instagram page: "The way I used my crutches, I was always kind of on my tippy toes, so the joints in my feet were destroyed by the end of the eight years."
"I've already had to have all my toes amputated," she went on. "But with the second one it's just the same situation. It was just my quality of life."

Speaking of her leg, Codd said it was 'never going to get any better at this point'.
"They can only stop it from getting worse," she added. "The amount of health problems and stuff I've had over the last year — I haven't let it stop me from doing anything but I do feel like it's hindered me and made my ability to do my job more difficult."
