
A Celebrity Traitors star has revealed why she chose to amputate her second leg after claiming to have damaged her body by using crutches.
Ruth Codd, who you might know from her roles in The Midnight Club, The Fall Of House Of Usher, and Irish Blood, received her first leg amputation ten years after injuring herself at 15 when playing soccer in the UK.
The injury to her leg caused nerve damage, and even though she underwent surgeries to correct the issue and pain, nothing worked.
So, Codd's leg was amputated below the knee, and now, she’s removing her other leg as well.

The 29-year-old revealed all in a TikTok video for her fans, where she told them there would be ‘good’ and ‘bad’ news.
She said: “The good news is that we’ve had a full circle moment and I’m back making TikTok content in my parents’ house.”
While the ‘full circle’ moment meant that she was back in the public platform and sharing one-to-one messages with fans, there was also another reason for her post.

She continued: “The bad news is that I can’t do it in front of that lovely, floral blue wallpaper anymore due to the fact that that room is upstairs and I’ve just had my second below knee amputation.”
Codd explained that ‘those facilities are not available to’ her right now.
In an Instagram post, she also shared why she needed to amputate again.
The actress revealed that she was standing on her tiptoes when using her crutches over the eight years since her last operation.

"It's just that this foot, I was on crutches for the bones of eight years and the way I used my crutches I was always kind of on my tippy toes," Ruth said.

She shared this ‘destroyed’ her joints and doctors couldn’t do anything to repair the damage.
“I’ve already had to have all my toes amputated, and so I have no toes and so my foot looks like a little hamburger,” she said.

Codd has always been candid about her amputation, which is where her fame began after she because a prominent figure on TikTok thanks to her honest talks.
In 2022, she was then cast in The Midnight Club, and she was also cast in the much-anticipated How To Train Your Dragon live action movie, which was released this year.
Despite her latest health hurdle, she’s been making viewers laugh with the introduction of her new wheelchair, Fat Tony.
