Keeping Up Appearances actress Patricia Routledge has died at the age of 96, her agent has confirmed.
The actress is best known for playing Hyacinth Bucket in the BBC sitcom, which ran between 1990 and 1995.
She also graced theater stages in the US, having won a Tony award for Broadway’s Darling of the Day in 1968.
Her agent told PA Media news agency: "We are deeply saddened to confirm the passing of Dame Patricia Routledge, who died peacefully in her sleep this morning surrounded by love.
"Even at 96 years old, Dame Patricia's passion for her work and for connecting with live audiences never waned, just as new generations of audiences have continued to find her through her beloved television roles."
The statement continued: "She will be dearly missed by those closest to her and by her devoted admirers around the world."
Her cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

She built a long stage career before finding television fame.
A regular on London's West End, she appeared in productions including The Importance of Being Earnest, Little Mary Sunshine and Noises Off.
She went on to win another award - this time, an Olivier - for Best Actress in a Musical for Candide.
Routledge’s other theatre work included acclaimed Shakespearean performances and the not-so-successful '1600 Pennsylvania Avenue', in which she portrayed every US First Lady in history.
She had also appeared in films such as 1967's To Sir, With Love and 1969's If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium.

Earlier this year, Patricia featured in the Channel 5 documentary, Keeping Up Appearances: 30 Years of Laughs, where she reflected on her time on the show. "There are people who can't really get beyond Keeping Up Appearances if they think about me, but it did make a great difference, and I do get the most wonderful letters," she said.
"I'm very grateful for that because you realise how important it is to have made people happy."
Tributes have been pouring in for the actress via social media.
