Savage comment Nicole Kidman made about ex Tom Cruise resurfaces amid Keith Urban divorce

As Kidman officially starts the divorce procedure with Keith Urban, fans are reflecting on the brutal remark she made about ex Tom Cruise

A savage one-liner Nicole Kidman once made about her ex-husband, Tom Cruise, has resurfaced online following news of her divorce from Keith Urban.

The Oscar-winning actor officially filed to end her marriage to the country star on Tuesday (September 30), citing 'irreconcilable differences' after 19 years together - with the news breaking just days after it was reported that Urban was living away from the family home in Nashville, Tennessee.

Sources claim the 58-year-old was trying to salvage her relationship with her 57-year-old spouse, but the couple had allegedly been living apart 'since the beginning of summer'.

Fuel was added to the fire after fans noticed Urban switching up lyrics during a recent concert. Performing his 2017 track 'The Fighter', which was originally inspired by Kidman, the American Idol judge swapped a lyric to the name of his 25-year-old guitarist, Maggie Baugh.

Instead of singing, 'when they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter', he switched it to, 'when they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player'.

Baugh later posted the moment on Instagram with the caption, “Did he just say that.”

Now, fans have dug up a brutal remark Kidman dropped during her first divorce.

Back in 2001, Kidman sat down with David Letterman not long after her separation from Cruise. When asked how she was doing, the Aussie smirked and said: “Well, I can wear heels now.”

The remark, clearly aimed at Cruise’s famously modest height, which is believed to be 5'7", left the audience in hysterics before Kidman quickly shut it down.

“Let’s move on. Now we move on," she stressed.

Kidman and Cruise were married from 1990 to 2001 and share two adopted children, 32-year-old Isabella and 30-year-old Connor.

Meanwhile, Kidman shares two children with Urban - daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and 14-year-old Faith Margaret.

Kidman is said to be leaning heavily on best friend Naomi Watts, who went through her own high-profile split from Liev Schreiber in 2016.

A source told the Daily Mail: “Nic has been calling Naomi a ton… there has been a lot of advice flowing, and Nic listens because Naomi has been through it herself.”
