Lizzo has discussed if she tried Ozempic as she reveals the 'controversial' truth behind her dramatic weight-loss.
The 'Juice' hitmaker has been showing off her significantly slimmer figure recently, though has stopped short at revealing just how many pounds she's lost.
Still, Lizzo has been open about her weight loss journey that she kick-started in 2023, documenting her progress for her fans on social media.

In January, the singer shared that she had hit her goal weight, proudly declaring she hadn't seen the number on the scale since 2014.
"Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!" she penned at the time.

Now, in the spirit of transparency, the 37-year-old has opened up on how she shredded the weight on an episode of Trisha Paytas' Just Trish podcast - and if GLP-1 drugs were involved.

Last year, Lizzo shut down allegations that she was on the fat loss jab, writing on Instagram: "When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit."
However, the Grammy winner confessed to Trish that she did try Ozempic in the beginning, but claims to have given it up after finding the GLP-1 medication couldn't help her long term.
"I've tried everything," Lizzo explained. "It's just the science for me, calories in versus calories out.
"Ozempic works because you eat less food. That's it. It makes you feel full, so if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it's the same thing."

The 'Truth Hurts' singer then lifted the lid on what she's found has actually helped her - giving up her plant-based diet that she followed for a decade before going 'fully vegan' from 2020 to 2023.
Trisha said giving up the diet could be considered 'controversial', but Lizzo explained: "When I was vegan, I was consuming a lot of fake meats. I was eating a lot of bread. I was eating a lot of rice.
"I had to eat a lot of it to stay full, but really I was consuming like 3,000 to 5,000 calories a day."

She went on to say how some foods that appear small are often calorie-dense - and filled with 'sugar and weird s***'.

"That f***'s you up on the inside that you're not even aware of," Lizzo continued. "So for me, when I started actually eating whole foods and eating like beef and chicken and fish like, I was actually full and not expanding my stomach by putting a lot of fake things in there that wasn't actually filling me up."
As for the GLP-1, she said she doesn't see those who opt for the drugs as 'cheating', adding: "It's not easy. It's a drug to help somebody with something they're struggling with.

"I think it's [critics] way of being fat phobic, when you're telling someone they're cheating like from getting weight loss surgery.

"That sounds very hard actually, a lot of people feel like they almost died on the table and they got so sick after getting the weight loss surgery, that's just not easy."
Her comments come as it was revealed in January Lizzo had dropped a whopping 16 percent in body fat and cut her body mass index by 10.5, revealing to Trish that she's proud of what she's achieved.

"I feel like I worked really really hard and it was intentional with what I did with my body.
"So when I get compliments, I go, 'Thanks b***h.' Like I really receive it because I need to receive that. I don't take it any weird way because I tried to do this."
