The director of the Golden Globes Glambot has addressed his viral interaction with Jennifer Lopez after the actress was branded as 'rude' by some people online.

The Golden Globes took place on January 12 and, like at many star-studded awards shows, Cole Walliser and his team were there with the famous Glambot.

The red carpet feature works by moving a high-speed camera towards celebs dressed in their finery, creating glamorous slow-motion footage of them strutting their stuff.

At the Globes, he posted videos with the likes of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams, and Blackpink's Lisa.

Walliser often has sweet interactions with the celebrities he's shooting and shakes their hands, says hello, or even gets a hug from them if they've met previously, but JLo was possibly a little bit frosty with him in comparison to others.

The singer's Glambot has been viewed over 35,000,000 times on TikTok, and many have commented on the now-viral clip that they felt she was 'rude' to Walliser.

Someone said: "She didn’t even speak to him!!!!!"

Another person questioned: "No smile? No hello? NOTHING?!"

However, others argued that JLo was simply in a rush and that she did say hello to Walliser, but it wasn't quite picked up on camera.

Amid the backlash, Walliser himself has addressed the matter and shared some more context for their brief interaction.

In a video shared to his socials on January 18, Walliser said that he's always asked about the 'worst' Glambots and who was the meanest or rudest to him.

Speaking about the Glambot with Lopez, he went on to say: "There was only one other person outside that conversation with JLo and that person was me."

"I didn't take it personally. It didn't feel rude in that moment," Walliser went on. "I think there's a couple things that added to the fuel of this idea. One, she's just down to business. The carpet was closed. She's ready to go inside.

"She knew what she was gonna do. She got into the position. It's just unfortunate that the position was she was facing away from me.

"So, I am talking to her, she is looking away, but she's getting ready for the move. In the moment, I'm not like, 'Hey, turn around and look.' I knew what she was doing."

Elsewhere in the video, he provides more context about red carpet events and the Glambot.

Walliser shared: "The first thing to know about Glambots is that Glambots are completely elective. Nobody's forcing you to do these things.

"If you want to do it, you can. If you're in a bad attitude and don't want to do it, you don't have to do it.

"Anyone who stops, I already liked you because your taking the time to do my thing and this is generous of you."

A second point he made is that red carpets are 'so insane', and that celebrities are being told to do loads of different things at once.

Walliser's third point was that at events like the Golden Globes, celebs are at work and there to do a job.

UNILAD has previously reached out to Lopez's representatives for comment.
