Jessica Alba confirms split from husband of almost 20 years in emotional social media post

Honey star Jessica Alba has confirmed that she's split from her husband of nearly 20 years.

In recent days, there's been a barrage of reports that Alba and film producer Cash Warren have gone their separate ways after tying the knot in 2008.

The celebrity pair share three kids together: Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and seven-year-old Hayes.

The two met on the set of Fantastic Four in 2004 and dated for four years before marrying.

Alba starred as Sue Storm in the movie, while Warren was director Tim Story's assistant.

Both Alba and Warren were yet to address the status of their relationship amid the reports of their split — until now.

Taking to Instagram yesterday (January 17), Alba opened up about a 'journey of self realization' she's been on in recent years.

In the post she simply captioned with a white heart emoji, the 43-year-old wrote to her 20 million followers: "I've been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years - both as an individual and in partnership with Cash. I'm proud of how we've grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals."

Alba's poignant post continued: "We are moving forward with love and kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time."

The mom-of-three has turned the comments off on the post.

Rewind back to May 2024 on the former couple's 16th wedding anniversary, and Alba gushed about Warren and said she was 'proud' of them 'for making it this far'.

"16 years of marriage, 20 years together and forever to go," she wrote.

"I’m proud of us for making it this far. There is no real set of rules or guidance that can ever prepare you for what it means to commit to another person and choose to be family."

Alba added at the time: "Through thick and thin we have continually found our way back to each other and have chosen one another. Cheers to us, I love you."

While Alba and Warren's break-up seems final, Warren once revealed that they'd previously split before they married, and later rekindled.

Speaking in 2023, Warren said on the Whine Down with Jana Kramer podcast: “When we first started dating, I was really jealous of other guys and the attention she was getting from other guys.

"It just wasn't making me feel good. I was always a pretty confident person in my own [life], walking my own path and really happy there."

Because he was 'feeling jealous all the time', they decided to break up.

It's unclear how long they were separated for before getting back together.
