Jameela Jamil has spoken out on social media following backlash over unsealed texts seeing her refer to Blake Lively as a 'suicide bomber'.
Amid the ongoing Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal drama - which first began all the way back in December 2024 - various messages were unsealed and filed in US District Court in Manhattan by Lively's lawyers on Tuesday (January 20).
Within some of those emails, texts and depositions, other well known names cropped up, from popstar Taylor Swift to actor and writer Jameela Jamil.
Jamil's texts came from a private exchange from August 2024 between her and Baldoni's publicist Jennifer Abel, who also represents Jamil.

A TikTok video criticizing Lively's comments during a press tour for It Ends With Us was shared and a text from Jamil followed: "She's a suicide bomber at this point. I've never seen such a bizarre villain act before."

Immediate backlash followed online, with some accusing Jamil of being a 'fake feminist'.
And on Thursday (January 22), Jamil took to her Instagram stories and broke down what 'feminism' actually 'means'.
While not directly mentioning the texts or Lively, Jamil's video certainly seems like a direct response to it.
In the video, Jamil stated: "Guys, feminism means fighting for the political, social and economic equity for women. Just gender equity."
She explained feminism 'does not mean you have to like every single woman' or 'be friends with every single woman' and, shocker, 'you can actually beef with other women' and 'criticize them'.
"You can do whatever you want, as long as you are also fighting for their human right to the same things that men have in this world," the People We Meet on Vacation star said.
She continued: "That’s all feminism is. It’s a moral and political stance. It is not a sleepover where we braid each other’s pubes, OK?
"So if you are fighting for women’s rights, but you don’t get along with every single woman, it doesn’t make you a bad feminist."
And Jamil has, quite rightly, been backed up by social media users too.

One user wrote: "Being a feminist does not mean you have to ALWAYS be on the women's side. Critical thinking should still be allowed."
Another added: "100 percent Amen, this isn't boys vs girls, it's about everyone getting treated like a human being, and everyone being held to account when they mistreat others."
