Blake Lively sent an email to Ben Affleck back in May 2024 shortly after she'd wrapped filming It Ends With Us alongside Justin Baldoni, it has emerged.
The movie came out in August 2024 and by December of that year, Lively had filed a lawsuit against her co-star alleging that he created hostile work environment through sexual harassment and boundary violations.
There's since been over a year of back-and-forth between Lively and Baldoni, and the Jane the Virgin star's $400,000,000 countersuit was ultimately thrown out in November 2025.
Lively's suit is still ongoing though, and the trial date has been set for May 18.

Oral arguments are set to take place tomorrow (January 22). This is where legal representatives from both parities will present their legal reasoning and answer questions from the judge.

Ahead of tomorrow's proceedings, dozens of files have been unsealed, with one exhibit detailing alleged text exchanges between Lively and Taylor Swift.

Part of her email to the two-time Oscar winner reads: "I'm writing with a zero pressure ask. I've just come out the other side (well almost) of the most upsetting experience I've ever had on a movie.
"The making of doc of this film would be more interesting than the movie could ever be. It's like if Wild Wild Country, Fyre Festival and Going Clear had a baby with The Room ... Room also works though."

She goes on to allege that she redo the entire script and needed to direct the movie alongside Baldoni, whom she dubbed a 'chaotic clown director'.

"Oh and did I mention he and everyone he had on the movie is in a cult," Lively's email to her The Town co-star went on.
"If I would've just formally directed it, it would've been much easier, but having to troubleshoot through his taste, ego and preexisting decisions made it so difficult and that's not even touching on any of the wild HR issues and beyond. Anyway, now I'm in a bake off with him in the edit."
She proceeded to ask Affleck if he'd be free to watch the movie for himself and give her any editing feedback.

Going on to gush about Affleck's then-wife Jennifer Lopez, Lively added: "If your wife or kids are around, I'd love their opinion also (fyi it does cover domestic violence so no one is caught off guard). I'm such a fan of Jennifer's, I've told her as much every time I've met her, and it would be an honor to have her take."
People online have since shared their thoughts on Lively's message to Affleck since it was made public.
Somebody said on Twitter: "Second hand embarrassment for @blakelively creepy letters."
"This is embarrassing," echoed another, as a third person wrote: "Incredibly unprofessional... Not the sort of email you would send if you wanted to be taken seriously."
