Jake Paul has issued an injury update from his hospital bed, confirming he can’t eat solid food after falling in defeat to Anthony Joshua.
On Friday (December 19), Paul, 28, (12-2, 7 KOs) was knocked out at the Casey Center in Miami by the former two-timed unified heavyweight champion Joshua, 36,(29-4, 26 KOs). The match, initially set to last eight three-minute rounds, was fought with 10 oz gloves, and was won in the sixth round by KO.
Paul’s first stoppage loss of his career came after he was floored twice in the fifth round and twice more in the sixth by the British icon.
The influencer later failed to attend the post-fight news conference, opting instead to have his injuries seen by staff at the Miami University hospital.

“He took a shower, he drove himself to hospital," Most Valuable Promotions CEO Nakisa Bidarian confirmed.
"A broken jaw is very common in sports, particularly in boxing or MMA. The recovery time is four to six weeks.”
In a fresh update, the YouTuber has admitted he’s had a successful surgery after losing the Netflix purse, which is said to be worth $184 million, as per former UFC champion Michael Bisping. The Ohio native shared an image from his hospital gurney holding a thumbs up pose on Saturday (December 20).
“Surgery went well thanks for all the love and support,” he typed.
“2 [two] titanium plates on each side. Some teeth removed. Have to have only liquids for 7 days so no @doghausdogs,” Paul added, referring to the fast food brand he is partnered with.

In the comments, the boxer’s fiancée and Dutch speed skater Jutta Leerdam wrote: “My man,” followed by a heart emoji.
“So glad everything went well. Sending love, prayers, and healing energy your way. Speedy recovery,” typed someone else.
A third Instagram user commented: “Man got hit one time and got his jaw broke.”
Another penned: “Who needs teeth to fight bite and leave dentures for your nex mark.” (Sic)
Alongside the image, Paul shared an X-ray of his fractured jaw caused by Joshua. According to The Problem Child, the wild injury won’t stop him from getting back in the ring.
“We will heal the broken jaw, come back and fight people my weight," he said, ESPN reported.

"I'm going for the cruiserweight world championship at some point. I'm going to take a little break. I've been going hard for six years, so I'm going to take some time off.”
Following the fight, Joshua claimed the win ‘wasn't [his] best performance’ and that the win took ‘longer than expected.
“But the right hand finally found its destination.”
