Hugh Jackman is hitting the gym, and fans believe it could be due to one potentially exciting reason.
The Greatest Showman star, 56, shared a video on his Instagram feed showing him lifting weights while a trainer gives him tips and words of encouragement in the background.
We're used to seeing Jackman jacked when playing the iconic mutant Wolverine in the X-Men films, with his final appearance as the character intending to be in 2017's Logan.
However, he made a return as Logan in the Deadpool & Wolverine blockbuster last year, telling The Guardian in 2023 that he 'wasn't tortured' by the thought of retiring from the role but decided to return because he 'wanted to do it and I felt it in my gut'.

Also, the chance to 'punch the s**t out of Ryan Reynolds' helped, too.
But could another return to the big screen be on the horizon?
Marvel fans seem to think so, especially since the next Avengers film, titled Avengers: Doomsday, is currently underway.

And now people are convinced Jackman will return once again as Wolverine.
The comment section is now filled with GIFs of Wolverine, as it’s clear that fans are hoping that the workout is prep for a Wolverine revival.
“Hope that’s for more Wolverine,” one fan commented.
Another fan quipped: “Alright everybody keep an eye out on his beard, if he grows mutton chops we all know what’s coming.”

And a third shared: “This is all the proof we need that he’s going to be in either Doomsday or Secret Wars or both.”
In addition to Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026, a follow-up titled Avengers: Secret Wars is set to drop the following year on December 17.
However, as things currently stand, Jackman is not expected to return to the role of Wolverine.
A teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, coinciding with the beginning of production in March, shows a line of director’s chairs with the names of the confirmed cast members written on them.

The live stream, which lasted over five hours, featured several notable names, including Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Simu Liu, Danny Ramirez, and Winston Duke.
Thunderbolts* stars Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Lewis Pullman also had chairs in the live stream.
Members of the new Fantastic Four team, with the actors from the upcoming film included in the Avengers: Doomsday livestream, like Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn.

Some of Jackman’s X-Men cast mates were also included, with Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming, and Kelsey Grammar receiving a chair.
However, Jackman’s name was missing. Marvel is always full of surprises, and unnamed sources told The Hollywood Reporter last month that they still have more names to unveil - although how the supposed unveiling will take place is still unknown.
