Rob Reiner completely changed the ending of When Harry Met Sally after meeting the woman who went on to be his wife.
The legendary Hollywood filmmaker was found dead along with his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, in their LA, Brentwood, home on Sunday (December 14).
Cops said they responded to calls to provide medical aid to a property at around 3.38pm local time, where they then found 78-year-old Reiner and 68-year-old Michele tragically deceased.
The LAPD Robbery Homicide Division have since been assigned to the case to determine what happened.

A source close to the couple reportedly told NBC News that they allegedly died of stab wounds.
Cops also said no one has been arrested and no suspect or person of interest is currently being sought.

The tragedy comes as the pair, who tied the knot in 1989, famously met when Reiner was directing the romantic comedy, When Harry Met Sally.
So influential was their meeting that Reiner went on to alter the course of Harry Burns and Sally Albright's fate, played by Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan in the movie, to that of a 'tear jerking' happy ending.
While speaking to CNN earlier this year, the director said: "The original ending of the film that we had was that Harry and Sally didn’t get together."
Explaining why, Reiner added: "I had been married for 10 years, I had been single for 10 years and I couldn’t figure out how I was ever going to be with anybody, and that gave birth to When Harry Met Sally."
Reiner was talking about his previous marriage to the late Penny Marshall, who he married in 1971 before divorcing a decade later.
"I hadn’t met anybody, and so it was going to be the two of them seeing each other after years, talking, and then walking away from each other," he added.

Yet in the film, fans will remember the heartwarming moment when Harry races to a New Year's Eve party to drop the bombshell speech, professing his love to Sally.
"I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible," he says.
Interestingly, Reiner decided to press with this alternative ending after meeting his own Sally - Michele, on the set.
He explained: "I met my wife, Michele, who I’ve been married to now 35 years.
"I met her while we were making the film, and I changed the ending."
The romantic story has resurfaced as a family member confirmed in a statement that the pair had died.
"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner," a family spokesperson said in a statement, the BBC reports.
"We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time."
Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton also said in a press conference yesterday that a search warrant is currently in the works to conduct a 'full crime scene investigation' on the Reiners' home.
Meanwhile, LAPD Captain Mike Bland said they were investigating an 'apparent homicide'.
A cause of death will be determined by the LA coroner's office.
