Halle Berry praised by fans after posting very candid new photos of herself

Celebrities are forever transforming themselves for movie roles, and this time it's Halle Berry's new look that's got people talking.

Berry's newest movie Never Let Go hit cinemas on September 27, where the 58-year-old stars as mom-of-two, June.

The film's official synopsis reads, as per IMDb: "A family that has been haunted by an evil spirit for years. Their safety and their surroundings come into question when one of the children questions if the evil is real."

With the world having ended in the horror movie, it wouldn't have been realistic for Berry too look like her usual glamorous self, so veteran make-up artist, Norma Patton-Lowin, stepped in to help create June's look.

In light of Never Let Go now being in cinemas, Berry shared a clip of her on Instagram in the make-up chair as she debuted her bold new appearance - hairy arm pits and all.

Sharing off her pits to the camera, Berry says: "What's happening here Norma? What did you do?"

"[The] things I do to you," Patton-Lowin laughed in the background.

As well fake arm pit hair, Berry showcased her larger than usual eyebrows and false tattoos.

In one part one the movie, Berry is seen sporting dreadlocks, while in other scenes of Never Let Go she has a bleach blond bob.

Sharing the videos and snaps online, Berry wrote: "Momma in the making. One of the most complex characters I’ve had the pleasure of embodying. #NeverLetGo is in theaters everywhere!"

People have been quick to applaud the actor her commitment to the role.

"Halle, what I love about you transforming into character, you’re not afraid to not be glamorous all the time," wrote one of her fans.

"You have range and there are other actresses, respectfully, that want to be beautiful all the time, there’s no range at all. Even in a scary movie they want to be sexy and it’s like come on."

A second person wrote: "I love how you are showing us more of your 'I don’t give a F#%^ side'. You really are beautiful inside and out."

Someone else said: "Wow, the things actors do to fulfill the roles they’re in. Thought for a moment Halle had started to grow an armpit jungle. So funny, LOL!!!"

Another person also thought the arm pit hair was real upon first glance. They penned: "I viewed this without the sound and was like Halle noooo!!! Then I realized you were in the makeup chair."

Even if the hair was real, I think we can all agree that Berry would still somehow manage to pull it off.
