Halle Berry reveals she told Drake he couldn't use her picture for new single and he still used it

A picture of the Catwoman actor taken at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was used as the cover art of Drake and SZA's new song.

Halle Berry has taken a further swipe at Drake, claiming she did not give the rapper permission to use a photograph of her as the cover art to his latest single.

Last week, Drake - real name Aubrey Drake Graham - surprise-released a new single in collaboration with SZA.

The 36-year-old’s new song ‘Slime You Out’ was first teased by both parties on Thursday (14 September) before it was uploaded to Spotify a day later.

Drake alongside SZA - real name Solana Imani Rowe - coordinated to post a picture of the alternate cover to ‘Slime You Out’ to social media.

The picture they shared to advertise the track featured an image of Halle Berry, taken at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

At the time, the 57-year-old was reacting to getting green slime thrown over her, which was cascading down her face and hands.

Obviously, this striking image caught the Canadian musician's eye, and he decided to use it as the alternate cover art to his latest single.

However, upon the release of ‘Slime You Out’, the X-Men actor took to Instagram to air her frustration with her nine million followers.

Berry posted a cryptic message to her Feed that stated: “Sometimes you have to be the bigger guy… Even if you’re a woman!”

Since sharing her initial reaction, Berry has doubled down on her statement.

A new comment was recently left on Berry’s latest Instagram post, which read: “While I do understand your side. That photo is owned by Getty Images.

Halle Berry took to Instagram to clarify how she felt about Drake using the 2012 photograph of herself.

“So I’m sure he got their permission. And paid the fee. Why you mad?”

The Oscar winner herself has replied to their comment, saying: “Cuz he asked me and I said NO that’s why.”

Further discussing how she felt, Berry continued: “Why ask if you intend to do what you want to do! That was the f*** you to me. Not cool. You get it?”

Elsewhere in the comments section, the mum-of-two has further stated why she was ‘disappointed’ in the ‘Hotline Bling’ star.

The Canadian rapper is yet to issue a public reply to Halle Berry.

Replying to another fan who asked ‘thoughts of Drake using that picture of you for his single’ Berry said: “Didn't get my permission.

“That's not cool. I thought better of him. Hence my post today. When people you admire disappoint you you have to be the bigger person and move on!”

Despite Berry doubling down on the Drake saga, the rapper has yet to comment on the allegation. The ‘All the Stars’ singer is also yet to post a response via social media.
