Eminem was once interviewed by the secret service over some of the lyrics in one of his songs.

Back in 2017 Eminem had released the song Revival, when Donald Trump was in his second year as president following his election in 2016.

The following year, the iconic rapper had claimed in the lyrics to his song The Ringer that the Secret Service had paid him a visit.

This was over lyrics which could be perceived as a threat to the safety of Donald Trump.

If you're thinking it seems a little far-fetched that a musician, even one as big as Eminem, could bypass all of the US intelligence services and take out the president, then believe, you are not alone.

The lyrics to The Ringer said: “But I know at least he’s heard it / cause Agent Orange just sent the Secret Service to meet in person to see if I really think of hurtin’ him / or ask if I’m linked to terrorists."

Needless to say, 'Agent Orange' is not actually referring to the devastating toxic substance, but to Donald Trump.

But while song lyrics often embellish the truth, in this case it seems that the lyrics may have been referring to a real occasion in which Eminem was interrogated by the Secret Service.

So what were these lyrics from Revival which sent the secret service knocking on Eminem's door?

Well, here they are, you can judge for yourself: “Donald Duck’s on as the Tonka Truck in the yard.

"But dog, how the f*ck is Ivanka Trump in the trunk of my car?… Cause I feel somewhat responsible for the dumb little blonde girl, that motherf*ckin’ baton twirler that got dumped in the pond. Second murder with no recollection of it …”

This was also not the first time that Eminem had written such lyrics either, with the Secret Service reportedly noting that he had previously said similar things.

Secret service documents obtained by a freedom of information request said: "This is not the first time MATHERS made threatening comments towards POTUS and his family.

“In June 2017, MATHERS freestyled comments that were threatening in nature towards POTUS.”

But it was an employee at tabloid TMZ that reportedly brought the matter to their attention, telling the secret service: “I want to know if your agency is investigating Eminem for his threatening lyrics about first daughter Ivanka Trump."

Ultimately after meeting with Eminem and his legal representatives the matter was not referred on.
