Demi Lovato fans criticized for ‘scary’ situation after singer is swarmed at airport

She was swarmed by fans at an airport in Brazil

Demi Lovato was swarmed by fans at an airport in Brazil, sparking a backlash from some who have hit out at the 'scary' situation.

Footage shared online shows the Heart Attack singer attempting to make her way through the airport while her fans swarm around her.

Lovato had been in São Paulo for The Town 2023 music festival, which also featured Bruno Mars, Post Malone, and Maroon 5.

In a post on Instagram, Lovato wrote: “What an amazing show.. thank you Sao Paolo and @thetownfestival for having me.

“I love my Brazilian lovatics so much!!! (And of course thank you @luisasonza for joining me to sing our song together - love you!!).”

And it seemed as though fans were keen to try and get a glimpse of the star as she made her way through the airport, with dozens of people surrounding the singer.

However, some fans have been left unimpressed by those who swarmed Lovato, with one person saying on X: “2023 and people still don’t know how to behave at the airports this is so disrespectful and dangerous for the artists and the other people who happen to be at the airport mind their business like if you can respect their spaces then don’t go to the airport.”

Another wrote: “That's scary.”

A third added: “I'll never understand fangirling that hard like let her live her life.”

Someone else said: “I am the embarrassing biggest fan girl of many things but what would possess people to swarm another human being like this?”

A fifth fan wrote: “This is so gross. LEAVE CELEBRITIES ALONE.”

Lovato’s visit to Brazil comes just weeks after she reportedly parted ways with manager Scooter Braun.

Lovato signed with Braun in 2019, saying at the time: "Dreams came true for me. I officially have a NEW MANAGER. And not just any manager but the one and only Scooter Braun.

"Couldn't be happier, inspired and excited to begin this next chapter - thank you for believing in me and for being a part of this new journey."

Lovato released two albums during her time working with Braun, 2021’s Dancing with the Devil… the Art of Starting Over and more recently Holy Fvck.

According to Billboard, it was 'time for Lovato to go in a new direction, even though she was thankful for her time with SB Projects'. The split has been described as 'amicable'.
