Christina Applegate has opened up about her latest health woes after she was rushed to the hospital with pain that left her 'screaming'.

The Dead To Me actress was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2021 and has been extremely candid about what it's like living with the debilitating condition, including the symptoms she's experienced.

One of the first 'subtle' side effects she noticed with her MS was her toes feeling numb.

Chatting to Conan O'Brien on his podcast, Applegate previously shared: "My toes started to feel numb, just my toes a little bit. I was still hiking, I was still playing tennis, but my toes weren't feeling right. Eventually, over those months, it grew from my toes, to my ankles, to my knees down is a whole other ball game.

"I was losing balance, the pain was extraordinary. When I say numb, it was numb but it hurts."

As well as featuring on other people's podcasts, Applegate has her own, which she co-hosts with The Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also has MS.

For the most recent episode of their show (which dropped on August 5), Applegate chatted to her friend and fellow actress from the hospital.

The Anchorman star has recently visited family in Europe, and while she was there, she started to feel unwell.

It wasn't too severe, however, and Applegate described herself as being 'up and down'. But on her 11-hour flight home, she said she 'wasn't feeling good'.

With this in mind, once she landed back in the US, the actress took herself straight to the hospital, where she demanded answers from her doctors about why she was feeling the way she was.

"I wanna know why this is happening and I want it so stop," Applegate said. She went on to ask for 'every test you can think of' in a bid to find answers.

"The next day, which would then be Sunday, I started getting a pain that I've never felt before on my right side in my back," she went on to recall.

Applegate was in so much pain she thought her 'appendix was bursting'. She was left 'screaming' as a result, and doctors then sent her for an emergency CT scan in the early hours of the morning.

The scan went on to reveal that the 53-year-old had a kidney infection, and she's now on antibiotics.

"That's where we're at," Applegate's update continued. "And now they're thinking that it could be something else but I don't want to say what they think because I don't want it to sound scary."

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Christina.
