Arnold Schwarzenegger's rarely-seen son Joseph reveals what his superstar dad 'busts his balls' about

Joseph Baena said his dad is his 'role model'

Arnold Schwarzenegger's son Joseph has revealed what his superstar dad 'busts his balls' about.

The Austrian-American actor and professional bodybuilder has a somewhat controversial family history which was only recently shoved into the spotlight again on the red carpet of his hit action-comedy show, FUBAR.

While Arnold posed for a snap with four of his children whom he shares with ex-wife Maria Shiver, including Katherine, Christina, Patrick, and Christopher, and Katherine's husband Chris Pratt, his youngest son was left out of the picture.

The 77-year-old posed separately with Joseph Baena for another pic, which eagle-eyed fans suspect comes from a decades-old family feud.

That's because the 27-year-old is the product of Arnold’s sensationally long affair with his family’s housekeeper, Mildred Baena, and it wasn't until 2011 that his then-wife, Maria, found out and filed for divorce after 25 years of marriage.

Meanwhile, Joseph started to get to know his father in 2010 when he found out at age 13, and Arnold went on to support his son financially through college.

Now, the young man has revealed the pair share quite a bond - though there is one thing that his Hollywood celeb dad does that 'busts his balls'.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight from the red carpet event, Joseph said he would consider it a 'great honor' if he was ever tasked with playing the part of his dad in a movie.

"He's a huge role model," Joseph said. "He's my dad. I would love to do justice to any role that takes to be him."

Arnold has clearly been a huge influence on his life as the fitness model started following in his father's footsteps by trying his hand at acting and bodybuilding after college, though it hasn't been easy.

When asked if he ever works out with Arnie, Joseph said: "Oh man, he busts my balls," with a grin. "Excuse my language.

"If I'm not there at 7am - he's there every day, I'm there every day, or I try to be there every day.

"But yeah, we train together. We love working out together.

"He's a great workout partner."

His comments come as in 2022 Joseph opened up on how their complex family history affected him on the UNWAXED podcast.

"I’m really grateful that my dad helped me get through college. But right when college was done, it was just like, 'You go. You’re on your own'. I was like, 'Oh, s**t'."

Joseph continued: "So yeah, I needed a job, and I was not getting any of the acting roles that I thought I was going to get, and like starting to get paid.

"I was like, 'I need to do something', so I started interning at this real estate company."

In a Netflix documentary, the bodybuilding pro also reflected on lying about the affair and Joseph, explaining how he had made his family ‘suffer'.
