Former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes described a paparazzi photo of herself as 'inspiring' as she detailed exactly how much weight she has lost while taking Ozempic.

The 39-year-old has been candid in the past about using Ozempic, which is not currently approved in the US for weight loss, but is instead designed to help improve blood sugar and reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events in adults with type 2 diabetes.

While there are medications such as Wegovy which have been approved by the FDA specifically for weight loss, many people, including celebrities, still use Ozempic to help them shed pounds.

In October, Bynes took to Instagram to say she'd lost 20 pounds with the help of the medication, but she still wanted to continue with her weight loss journey after seeing success following a rocky start.

“I've lost 20 pounds so far. I'm so excited about that, to be honest. Also, I want to lose about 50 more pounds,” she said at the time, adding: “I'm 163 now. I actually shot up on the Ozempic pill, shot up to 180 from 173. So, I was able to lose 20 pounds from 180 and now I'm down to 163 on the Ozempic injection.”

“I'm really glad I'm on the injection, it's really working for me,” Bynes added in the video.

Two months on, the star shared another update as she re-posted a paparazzi photo to her Instagram highlights, showing her walking down the street while wearing ripped jeans and a white t-shirt.

In a caption on top of the image, Bynes explained that she usually 'doesn't like' paparazzi pictures, but she saw herself in a new light in this particular snap after losing weight.

She said: “I usually don't like paparazzi pictures because I was 180lbs but now I've lost 28lbs on Ozempic! I'm down to 152lbs. I know I still look big but this photo is really inspiring to me!”

The original Instagram post, shared on the page Just Jared, has been flooded with comments of support for Bynes as she continues to share her updates.

“Loving the look,” one fan commented, as another wrote: “Amanda Bynes will always be my Perfect Celebrity.”

Bynes has previously referenced paparazzi photos as one of the reasons behind her decision to take Ozempic, explaining in an Instagram Story that she hoped to 'look better in paparazzi pictures'.

She added her hope that 'you don't see my double chin from strange angles'.
